Issue 68
Q: Foods are enriched with vitamins and minerals. So why even bother with supplements? Just in case I need more vitamins, I can get everything I need from my supermarket brand at a lower cost than natural or superfood supplements. So, why Exsula?
A: Food enrichment is an admission that the food we are being served is no longer capable of meeting even our most basic nutritional needs - not even for Vitamin C or Iodine.
Crops are coerced into growing on topsoils devastated by erosion and industrial agricultural methods. These soils were often lacking key nutrients to begin with - Chromium for example. Though Chromium is absolutely vital for maintaining a healthy fat to muscle ratio, and for avoiding diabetes, heart disease and premature aging, it is not needed in significant amounts by plants.
You can chemically fertilize bad soil and get a good-looking, high yield crop that is virtually devoid of Chromium and many other key nutrients vital to humans. Some other nutrients that are hit and miss for availability in our diets include Boron, Vanadium, Molybdenum, Tin, Nickel, Silicon, Lithium, Iridium, Selenium, Vitamins, Enzymes and precious Enzymatic Pigments.
The mineral elements are the “mortar” that hold the “bricks” of the other nutrients in place and in proper function throughout the organs and systems of your body. Use bad mortar and your house is going to fall down.
North American soil is very low in Chromium to begin with. Chromium and the other key trace elements are not added back in fertilizers. Every crop cycle removes more of the tiny balance. As a result, Americans now are getting as little as 2% of the Chromium and other trace elements their grandparents got.
In addition to their basic value as minerals, these elements are used by plants, animals and people during their internal processes of constructing vitamins and other useful nutrients like enzymes, and plant enzymatic pigments - carotene (yellow-orange), phycocyanine (blue), anthocyanidins (red-purple), and chlorophyll (green).
Partly as a result of the declining chromium, there has been a 67% increase in overweight people in their 20s during just the past couple of decades.
Q: What would be the results of that low intake?
A: As we looked across a population with low Chromium and Trace Nutrient intake, I would first expect to see people with an unhealthy appetite for too much of the wrong kinds of food - mainly just desperately eating too much.
These would be fat-heavy, muscle-lite people. The healthy, solid, organ and tissue structures envisioned by their genetic blueprints are gradually displaced by fat-dominated, nutrient-deprived, rapidly-aging structures. This is the biological equivalent of living with a termite weakened foundation instead of living in a log and granite castle. Their bodies simply aren’t prepared for the ravages of time, pollution or disease invaders that we all encounter every day.
Their blood sugar is bouncing all over the place and flirting with diabetes, so they are often moody and hunting for snacks. Their energy systems are drowning in the wrong kinds of fat without the enzymatic matches necessary to burn it of f. Their immune systems are continuously out of breath so they experience a lot of sick-time off from work, school, marriage and family.
Their blood vessels are losing their youthful elasticity and are becoming hardened and clogged with cholesterol and fatty-proteins (lipoproteins). Poor circulation and low oxygenation are considered primary instigators of cancer. Poor circulation is also implicated in lowered sexual desire and diminished performance.
To summarize, such a society would find over 50% of their mid-aged adults very overweight and dangerously out of shape. Heart disease, diabetes and cancer would be taking three times as many people as all other causes of death combined.
It would take billions of dollars of cosmetics to cover their unhealthy looking skin - skin so lacking in genuine youthful living radiance that even an artificial plastic veneer is preferable to reality.
Next time you are looking at statistics, or are in a supermarket, at a beach, or even in a high school, look around and confirm these statistics and observations for yourself.
Q: In college I learned that minerals like chromium and selenium are toxic. So how can they be good for you?
A: That false understanding actually fell to the light of truth many years ago but didn’t exactly make front-page news. Scientific instrumentation was too clunky to accommodate trace element studies until into the 70s and 80s - well after the official “The earth is flat” position on nutrition had already been cast in the 1950s.
At first, for many of these vital trace minerals, science was incapable of even detecting them at the levels necessary for minimal to optimal biological function of cells, organs and systems. With the tools they had, the only level at which scientists could observe these minerals interacting with people was when workers came into contact with extreme amounts of them in their toxic industrial forms -such as workers in an auto bumper chroming factory. So all of the good trace minerals got lumped together with the bad ones - like mercury, cadmium and lead.
As a society, we became paranoid of anything not in Geritol, on the side panel of a cereal box, or in a Once A Day tablet - the nutrients ordained and officially accepted during the 1950s.
Very quietly, this official “wisdom” was evolving year-by-year, beginning in the late 60s. Just as scientists began looking deeper and deeper out into space, and discovering new things there, we also began looking deeper and deeper into the cells and into the molecules that make-up and run our lives. Year by year, new elements were observed to be essential, but in incredibly tiny amounts.
Q: How tiny?
A: Well, take Cobalt for example. Vitamin B-12 is an essential vitamin with the mineral Cobalt as a cornerstone of its structure.
The RDA/RDI for B-12 is 3 to 4 micrograms. How much is that? If you took a razor blade and sliced a 1 gram tablet into 32 slices, and then carefully chopped each of those into 32 more little cubes, you would have 1,000 tiny particles of 1 milligram each. If you took one of those minuscule cubes and dissected it the same way yet again into 1,000 minute microscopic dust specs, you would now have a 1 microgram speck. Now gather four of these together on the point of a pin. You can’t see them, but we will pretend we can. That is your body’s daily need for B-12. Yet only a tiny fraction of that is Cobalt - so it is only a portion of just one of those four 1 microgram specs.
Then take that fractional speck of a speck and split it again into 1,000 million slices and then molecularly dissect each one into 100,000 more much smaller pieces. Now you have 100 trillion separate submicroscopic molecular fragments of a fraction of 1000th of 1000th of the original tablet. That is the daily necessity of Cobalt for each of your cells.
This is a favorite example of mine to illustrate why this depth of science was so challenging at a time when the Edsel represented the pinnacle of American technology. Too much Cobalt and you enlarge the thyroid and get a dangerously high number of blood cells (exceedingly rare). Too little B-12 (Cobalt) and you get anemia, fatigue, permanent nervous disorders, your immune system goes weak, you start aging faster than necessary, fetuses are damaged, and children fail to grow. B-12 deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies - present in something like 70% of non-injury hospital patients.
That almost immeasurably minute amount of Cobalt is tremendously important for your quality and quantity of life. Lack in it even briefly and permanent nerve damage results. Iridesca provides 83mcg of B-12, 1380% RDA/RDI, plus 60mcg of separately available Cobalt to assist your beneficial intestinal bacteria in their production of additional B-12, your only back-up source since your own cells can’t make B-12.
The molecular-scale world within your cells is all abuzz with a dozen different ones of these ignored and neglected nutrient treasures and their thousands of types of enzymes and bio-molecular offspring. They are absolutely key to your optimum health, performance and longevity.
Q: So how about if I just take a colloidal trace mineral supplement?
A: Trace mineral supplements are made from ancient seabed deposits with a very wide and strange spectrum of trace elements in as-they-come forms and amounts.
The problem with the very wide spectrum is that you end up getting several different trace elements proven to be toxic at even these minuscule trace levels - cadmium for example at a delivery level equivalent to 3 packs of cigarettes per day (a primary toxin found in cigarette smoke and known to destroy kidney tissue).
Cadmium just stays and stays in the body cycling over and over, and accumulating to higher and higher concentrations and higher and higher levels of kidney damage.
FORM
100% Plant-Life-Created TM
Accommodates your cells getting the most benefit from every molecule of every nutrient.
SPECTRUM
Full-Life-Spectrum TM
Provides every vitamin, enzyme, enzymatic pigment. phytonutrient, mineral and trace element shown useful for optimum life performance - and without those you do not want.
BALANCE
Life-Optimized-Balance TM
Precision-crafted, abundant, meaningful amounts of every nutrient specified by your cells’ genetic blueprint.
Form
These ancient deposits contain a lot of stuff you really don’t want, and hit and miss levels of the precious ones you do want. In addition, this anciently reverted-to-rock form is typically acid processed after mining to reduce particle size. The resultant material enters your body without any of the life-characteristics of plant concentrates.
Take Chromium for example. Your body needs Chromium in the GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor -bound with Niacin) form. Take it in any other form like ancient mineral sediments, or factory-made chromium picolinate (vitamin tablet) form, and your body has to jump through all kinds of hoops to convert it into the ready to use GTF form.
These highly complex molecular conversions tie up all sorts of your cellular equipment and consume other valuable nutrients and enzyme life-energy resources, leaving you feeling more run down after taking them than you did before. Now apply this effect across three dozen vitamins and minerals and the difference in performance - and your experience - between the ground-up-rock-form and our Plant-Life-Created’ form, as in Exsula, is vast and obvious.
Balance
Form is one thing, but balance is another equally important consideration. Even in the sub-microscopic molecular world of these nutrients, a certain natural balance must be respected if optimum results are to be expected.
Colloidal supplements may offer an impressive list of trace elements (including a long list of ones you don’t want) yet can still be lacking meaningful amounts of the trace minerals your cells most desperately need.
Organic
Q: What about organic foods and supplements? Is Exsula organic?
A: Organic only means that a particular crop wasn’t chemically fertilized or sprayed for pests or weeds. It doesn’t necessarily assure a major difference in trace mineral or nutrient content in the case where that soil didn’t have that mineral to begin with. Going organic won’t necessarily make a missing mineral magically appear.
However, when a given plot of soil is nurtured organically over a long enough period of time, eventually the soil comes alive again and digestive acids and enzymes from living bacteria and earthworms begin unlocking minerals otherwise biologically inaccessible and locked-up in the larger soil particles. So with organic, you do eventually at least tend to get more of the minerals that would otherwise remain locked-up in large grains of soil away from plant roots and away from your food and cells.
Just understand that organic doesn’t necessarily mean balanced full spectrum minerals. If the soil hasn’t been carefully built-up and balanced by a Serious organic gardening enthusiast, organic may only mean “free-of-chemicals”.
My grandfathers and my father were avid organic gardeners and soil optimizers. You could smell the perfume of their produce three blocks away - tomatoes, carrots, melons and apricots unlike anything I have seen in years.
They would have been ashamed of much of the produce being sold as organic in the stores today. Most agricultural topsoil has been so ravaged that large-scale - even small-scale - soil optimization is barely a dream. In the meantime, short of growing all of your own food on optimized-soil, supplementation is the only other option.
Three Types Of Organic
There are three ways to look at “organic” ingredients. Exsula utilizes all three and has spared no expense in selecting the best nutrient source available ingredient by ingredient.
The first is certified organic - meaning the crop was grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc. Examples of these in Exsula include the Kona Spirulina, and Vegetable and Grass Juices.
The second type is called pure-culture-grown where living plant cells are nurtured by natural growing mediums in large stainless steel or glass tanks. Examples of these include Chlorella, Q1O and our Plant-Life-Created Vitamin and Mineral Complexes.
Only Exsula Iridesca contains 35 separate pure-cultured nutrients incorporated into tiny plant cells by living processes. The unique separate batch design of Iridesca enables a nutrient-by-nutrient balancing. We take a tally of the nutrients of Iridesca’s 150-some other nutrient-accumulating-plants, as well as the nutrients found in your typical day’s food. All carefully orchestrated with an eye toward optimizing performance in every cell, organ and system of your body.
The third type of organic is called wild crafted. These plants are gathered from the wild, having grown to harvest only as nature provided. Examples of these include Cat’s Claw Herb (Peru), Siberian Ginseng (Siberia) and Suma (Amazon Rainforest, Brazil).
Other ingredients, like our superb Soya Lecithin in Exsula products, are not yet available as organic, although some supplement products containing Lecithin make a blanket organic claim for their product - since after it is extracted from the soy oil, its trace of agricultural chemicals falls below detectable levels - similar to wind-drift from neighboring fields into an organic field.
Q: So how is this all connected?
A: There are three legs of understanding that keep the tripod holding your health upright. They are...
Form
The nutrients work much better when delivered in a ready-to-use Plant-Life-Created form. You either have this right or you have a do-it-yourself-industrial-chemistry-set with critical details missing and needing to be patched together from elsewhere in your life processes - and only then being in a barely usable (as opposed to optimal) form.
Spectrum
If the spectrum isn’t genuinely complete - beyond the RDA/RDI minimum for basic health, you may be missing entire nutrient modules necessary for optimum health and performance. If the spectrum goes too far, you end up with toxic elements, such as cadmium, mercury, lead or aluminum that you don’t want.
Balance
If you have way too much of some nutrients, or meaninglessly tiny amounts of others, then what is the point? -Just to pretend you are getting nourished? Without balance, the tripod will eventually tip over.
An ideal superfood supplement will take into account nutrients known to already be in good supply in your diet. Then it will provide an abundance of overlapping nutrient-accumulating superfoods. And finally, it will make up any low areas with a nutrient-by-nutrient pure-culture source.
FORM
Q: Can you give me some examples of nutrient forms to avoid and examples of some that are superior?
A:
Chromium
Did you know that outside the USA, one popular form of manufactured chromium supplement (picolinate) is held in very low regard, while French studies of the Life-Created GTF form of Chromium found that the more they tried to overdose their lab animals with the GTF form, the longer they lived?
Vitamin C & Bioflavonoids
Did you know that one vigorously promoted form of vitamin C was recently given a Bad Science Award because the increased blood-level of vitamin C after taking it was discovered to actually be vitamin C it was leaching out of your cells? Just plain old “el cheapo” ascorbic acid actually got more C to the cells and provided better results.
However, Szent Giorgy, the Nobel Prize winning scientist that discovered Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) also went on to discover that effective functioning of Vitamin C in the cells took more than merely getting it in there. Its usefulness and benefits were utterly dependent upon complex phytonutrients called Bioflavonoids. Some of these help Vitamin C stay on the job, while others of these are teammates that custom-assist Vitamin C at its varied tasks.
A daily supply of Iridesca has several sources of Plant-Life-Created Vitamin C, plus an unheard of high level of Bioflavonoids - a combined total of around 1,000mg of Bioflavonoids of dozens of types from many different sources - including Pycnogenols, Anthocyanidins, Quercetin and Citrus Bioflavonoids. Looking at the complete picture, no other product approaches the range, the potency, nor the activity level of Iridesca’s Vitamin C team’s performance.
Carotene
Did you know that nearly all of the carotene sold as “natural” in supplements is manufactured by a drug company, in a chemical factory, and made from petroleum by-products, processed with an industrial solvent banned in other countries because it is so carcinogenic?
Exsula uses only living plant sources of Carotenes - and only in their full-life-spectrum, providing dozens of different Carotenoids in their genuinely natural form.
Vitamin K
The common, synthetic form of Vitamin K as found in some supplements and as injected into newborns must be taken with care to avoid overdose reactions, whereas the natural K-1 and K-2 forms in Exsula are regarded as the safe forms -resources available just as the body needs them, and with any extra being easily eliminated rather than accumulating at too high of a level.
Lecithin
Did you know that typical “nutritional” lecithin is manufactured in crude facilities originally built to remove lecithin from cooking oil and use it as a deep oil well drilling lubricant, and for the manufacture of recording tape? This crude form of lecithin is high in oil and water (up to 20%). These impurities combine with oxygen, heat, light and time to generate dangerous levels of free-radicals (rancidification) right on the shelf in the retail container.
Lecithin is now a widely distributed emulsifying ingredient for foods such as gravies, ice cream and chocolate where it is necessary to blend fats and water. It goes from manufacturer to regional distribution warehouses where it can sit for several months prior to being shipped. It then is warehoused at supplement manufacturers, and then again at regional distributors, and then accumulates up to another 18 to 24 months at the retail and customer level - as much as 3 or more years in all.
The Lecithin in all Exsula products is from a facility 40 years newer, and specifically designed to produce scientific-grade Lecithin of far higher purity and stability (less than 2% oil and water - a low enough level to nearly disarm the free radical processes).
In addition, though we could get our Lecithin from a nearby regional warehouse, we have arranged to have it shipped directly from the manufacturer to assure that we provide you with the very freshest Lecithin possible. Oxygen-absorbing and moisture-absorbing packets continue to remove oxygen and moisture after our Lecithin is in the bottle. The light-shielding amber bottles and full-coverage foil labels protect the lecithin from light (photon interactions), which can accelerate free radical reactions.
The Vitamins C and E, and other naturally occurring antioxidants, in Iridesca, further protect the precious and vulnerable Lecithin in the bottle just as they protect the precious and vulnerable structures in your cells and body.
SPECTRUM
Q: Isn’t the RDA enough? Why should one want to take anything not in the RDA?
A: Spirulina, Barley Grass, Lecithin, Royal Jelly, Antioxidant Enzyme Sprouts, Digestive Enzymes, Acidophilus, Beta Carotene, Alpha Carotene, Luetin, Bioflavonoids, GLA, Omega-3, Coenzyme Qi0, Tin, Chromium, Nickel, Selenium, Silica, Molybdenum, Boron, Vitamin K, Biotin, Choline, Inositol - All have been proven biologically useful and necessary for optimum longevity and performance of your cells, organs, tissues and systems - but try to find a supplement that has any of these treasures - let alone one that has them all.
There are Carotene supplements, Superfood supplements, Herbal supplements, Bioflavonoid supplements, Q-10 capsules, GLA gel caps, Trace Element liquids, Vitamin and Mineral supplements, Digestive Enzymes, Acidophilus capsules - add up the cost - then consider the inconvenience of taking handfuls of pills from a cabinet-full of bottles.
Does your supplement program provide Carotene for an effective immune system, safe night-driving vision, and for protecting your skin from solar radiation? Iridesca provides dozens of naturally occurring Carotenes including Alpha Carotene and Luetin.
We have recognized the importance of the Carotene Luetin and had naturally-occurring sources of it in our formula since 1986 while others in the supplement business just now seem to be waking up to its incredible value. There are dozens of naturally-occurring Carotenes in Iridesca. What are these other companies going to do - sell them to you one at a time - or make you wait another 14 years for the next one to come out?
Quite often supplements touting big RDA/RDI numbers actually leave out or neglect vital nutrients with established RDAs. Does your supplement provide the essential B-vitamin Biotin necessary for utilization of your essential fatty acids (for healthy brain, nerves, skin, hair, sex and heart)? At 100% of your daily need? If not, perhaps it is because Biotin is more expensive to provide at levels to meet your needs than all of the other B-vitamins combined. Iridesca provides 125% of your daily need for Biotin in a unique Life-Created form.
Does your supplement provide Vitamin K for healthy clotting in event of accident or injury, and for relieving menstrual cramps? Iridesca provides both Life-Created types, K-1 & K-2 (the safe forms).
Does your supplement provide Boron? Boron is diminishing in our food supply yet is necessary for production of sex hormones. Sperm count in America is now well below other countries and is continuing to fall. Cats fed the nutritionist-designed supermarket-sourced school lunch diet diminished in sexual differentiation, and by the eleventh generation were unable/uninterested in reproduction. Iridesca provides a significant 1,660mcg of Boron, the equivalent of 10 pounds of grapes daily. Benefits may be expected in areas of male and female features and characteristics, youthful hair, and muscle mass, and attractive body form. Get more benefit from any given exercise!
Tin
There has been a tremendous amount of interest lately over the relationship of adult production of growth-hormone, and quality of life and longevity. It seems that the same hormone that helps kids grow, also helps adults defy their chronological age and take on youthful characteristics of a much younger biological age and level of cellular activity.
While most of the attention is focused upon the amino acid portion of the growth hormone equation (and while most of us get plenty of protein) it should be noted that young lab animals deprived of Tin failed to grow - so there may be a GHT in relationship. Also, as discussed above, Boron is useful for providing these same youthful hormone type benefits. And for serious longevity enthusiasts, it should be noted that Coenzyme Q-10 extended the lives of lab animals to the human equivalent of 150 years while greatly extending the quality of life to match that added time.
Q-10
Without Q-10 in your cells, you can not produce energy. You are dependent upon your diet and your liver to provide you with optimum amounts.
Very early after age 20, your liver output of Q-10 begins to decline. By age 40 the decline is substantial and its shortage begins first to show up in an increased fat level, lowered physical ambition, a shrinking of your effective work day, less frequent and less vigorous sexual activity, and eventually, very often as gum disease. Your heart is perhaps the most vital Q-10 consuming community of cells, however, your immune system isn’t far behind.
Your liver itself requires Q-10 for energy to produce Q-10 and other enzymes. Without sufficient Q-10, your production of all enzymes enters the downward spiral characteristic of aging, and all the signs from poor health to reduced physical mobility and slow-mindedness begin to set in.
Because your brain cells are the very same original brain cells you had in your mother’s womb, they are ancient compared to blood cells or intestinal lining cells, which are replaced weekly or even more often. You either protect your brain cells or they go off-line for good. They aren’t replaced. You get no second chance to treat them better next time. Anyone who has seen senile dementia or Alzheimer’s understands how precious are the basic brain functions that some people neglect and take for granted.
Q-10 is the precious fountain-of-youth in this category as it is essential to provide the spark of life to keep these irreplaceable cells alive and healthy - and - Q-10 is the one antioxidant uniquely poised right within the mitochondria (energy producing structures of the cells) to degrade the metabolic byproducts of life-energy production before they can damage the sub-microscopic machinery of the mitochondria - or before these toxins can escape to attack the surrounding equipment and genetic blueprint required for maintaining healthy chemistry of your brain cells.
Each daily supply of Iridesca provides 60mg of Q-10, double the 30mg amount of typical Q-10-specific supplements.
Q: If so many other nutrients are so vital, then what is the point of the RDA?
A: You might look at it this way. The RDA is an old-ideology-based system which is OK for a quick identification of a few of the basic nutrients, which when lacking result in fairly rapid disease conditions - like Vitamin C for scurvy, Folic Acid to prevent birth defects, or B-12 and Iron for anemia. But even the term RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) is being modified to Reference Daily Intake - no longer “recommended” but merely a “reference.”
Many of the non-RDA nutrients are equally vital for healthy functioning of your cells, organs and systems, but because your body is able to hold-up under deprivation of these nutrients for longer periods of time before obvious disease sets in, no RDA was ever established. A perfect example of this would be how a slight shortage of Lecithin may take decades to manifest as cholesterol-clogged arteries. The body can work around this eventual killer for many years before it becomes obvious and inescapable.
Also, the RDA system originated out of an era riddled with commercial bias and incomplete scientific information. For example, there is an RDA for Vitamin A but not for Carotene - even though Carotene is a safer, more widely functioning source of Vitamin A.
The pre-formed “animal-form” of A is cheaper and less bulky, so it got picked while the “plant-form,” Carotene, got put off. Then once Carotene did begin to gain recognition as a superior, more widely beneficial form of Vitamin A, only one member of the diversely capable Carotenoid family got selected - Beta-carotene (the easiest to synthesize). Beta got all of the attention to the neglect of the other naturally-occurring Carotenes - Luetin (for eyesight) Alpha Carotene (“Canthaxanthin” - for a healthy tan) Xanthophylis, Lycopene, Cryptoxanthin, Echinenone, Euglenanone and Zeaxanthin (for synergistic support of your immune system).
Two other examples - even though Q-10 and Lecithin are indisputably vital for proper cellular functioning and for your health, these precious nutrients won’t get elected to RDA status because of a goofy technicality - your liver can make them from other nutrients in your diet. Well, it can do this while you are young anyway - while your liver is perfectly healthy - and assuming you are getting a complete diet otherwise.
However, once you begin to age, the efficiency of your liver begins to taper-off and your production of these nutrients drops along with it. This decline is accompanied by all of the “normal” signs of aging - lessened physical, sexual, mental and immune performance - the look of aging (wrinkles, joint and circulatory problems, fat-gain and muscle-loss and sag).
Not all of us consider these traits as normal, nor do we desire to experience them 20 or 30 years prematurely. The Life Enthusiast’s response to these “minor” challenges is not centered around worshipping the god of ink and paper called the RDA, but rather embraces all of the beneficial nutrients provided by our Creator throughout living creation in the form of nutrient-accumulating plants - the form your Designer and Maker provided and specified.
BALANCE
Q: So what do you mean by balance?
A: While some supplements are entirely lacking many vital components, others contain things like aluminum and cadmium - things that you definitely don’t want. Cadmium is a particularly nasty toxin that can be grouped on the same wanted poster alongside mercury, lead and radioactive strontium and iodine, yet cadmium is proudly (?!?) listed as a trace element included in the ancient deposit supplements. Why do they have it? Because it comes with all of the others, and the only other way to make a comprehensive trace element supplement is to go to the extra work of balancing it one nutrient at a time - like Iridesca.
Balance not only means having everything you need by a line-item list, but having enough of each one to actually make a meaningful nutritional difference. In Iridesca we call this having an abundant, significant, meaningful amount. While the colloidal supplements have an “impressive long list” of minerals, few of the ones you need are in meaningful or optimal amounts.
Potencies may vary from analysis to analysis, and by brand and formula. The accompanying numbers are merely typical.
For more information, request copies of Creative Insights Issue Number 66 (Iridesca Nutrient Composition) and Issue Number 52 (Dead Doctors Might Not Lie, But That Doesn’t Mean You’ve Heard The Whole Truth About Minerals).
A typical comparison of Iridesca to an ancient deposit colloidal mineral supplement will show that daily-supply to daily-supply Iridesca provides:
The key health elements, Chromium, Copper, Germanium, Molybdenum, Selenium, Vanadium and Zinc, though proudly listed on these products, and in their brochures, are in fact not actually present in amounts great enough to make a perceptible difference over and above the naturally occurring variances in your diet from day to day.
We don’t even list most of these on the Iridesca label because they are nutritional consonants of Iridesca’s 180-some ingredients. There simply isn’t room to list every vitamin, trace element, digestive enzyme, metabolic enzyme, antioxidants enzyme and phytonutrient.
Ginger alone contains over 400 different Nutrients, Enzymes, Coenzymes and Phytonutrients. The list for Royal Jelly may be even longer because of its vast library of Enzymes. Even Lecithin has a dozen key Vitamin, Mineral, Essential Fatty Acid and Phytonutrient components - one of these, for example, Phosphatidyl Ethanolamine, has been studied by Israeli researchers (and by others since) for its ability to protect cells from viruses and to un-shield the virus’s protective cholesterol shell so your immune system can locate, lock-on and destroy them -arguably a very crucial function, right up there in importance with the A, C & E crowd - but no room to list it. Does your supplement have it?
Minerals aren’t the only things shortchanged in typical supplements. Biotin of the B-complex group is almost universally neglected because of its very high cost - roughly equal to that of the other Bs combined. When you have a supplement with big RDA percentages for the other Bs, but no Biotin, or only 5% or 30% of the RDA, you may wonder out loud where else they cut corners in that product.
And as you may know, balance is especially important within the B-complex group as they support assimilation and utilization of each other. Neglect even one and the activities and many of the benefits of the others evaporate also. A daily supply of Iridesca provides 375mcg, or 125% of the RDA/RDI for Biotin - and in the fully-assailable, ready-for your-cells, plant-created form.
Jumping across from the neglected micro-nutrient end of the nutritional spectrum we find two other universally neglected macro B vitamins -Choline and Inositol. Does your B-complex provide these? -In meaningful amounts? Probably not. Why? Because they are bulky. In your body they make up something like half of your total vitamin mass - and therefore would approximately double the number of tablets needed for a supplement.
For the sake of “convenience” they are left out - resulting in far below optimum utilization of the Bs that are in there. Ever hear anybody say “I took vitamins and couldn’t feel a difference.” Well, imbalanced formulation is often one big reason why.
So why don’t we know better?
Well, long ago, lobbyists for the early supplement brands, big food companies, and other nefarious interests, quietly got an obscure regulation passed that forbade anyone in the nutrition industry from talking about the usefulness (functions and benefits) of Choline and Inositol. They didn’t want to have to explain to their customers why their products didn’t have these marvelous nutrients.
It literally took an act of Congress a few years ago to set this and similarly hideous ignorance-and-ill-health-supporting devices aside. So why still no Choline and Inositol in the supplements? Simple. The general public has been given no understanding of their value, and therefore isn’t willing to pay more for their supplements and take twice as many tablets.
What might a shortfall of these nutrients look like on the human landscape of health?
Choline and Inositol are universally present in Lecithin in all living cells - plant and animal. They are irreplaceable in several key operations and structures of every cell. And through their synergistic relationship with the other Bs, they potentiate every aspect of your quality and quantity of life.
Inositol
Even considered in only the narrowest, most direct and specific terms, the impacts of Choline and Inositol are immense. Cells shorted of Inositol develop abnormal structures. Dividing cells fail to separate so you end up with a two-cell equivalent of a horror movie monster where two people end up melting together into one hideous mass. In other cells, life-oxygen activities are disrupted. Enzyme levels plummet, and soon, life-energy production sinks to death levels. If this sounds to you like a formula for cancer, don’t think that you are alone in that thought!
Coffee and caffeinated sodas deplete Inositol. Coffee is linked to cancer and birth defects. In a German study, the offspring of 6-or-more-cup-a-day coffee-drinking fathers had substantially more birth defects.
Hot weather drinking of huge amounts of water also depletes Inositol. Ever feel slow-minded and sluggish after it’s been hot for a few days?
Then try taking some Inositol rich Xtrapure Lecithin on Iridesca to help your body compensate for hot weather Inositol loss.
Choline
Inositol’s twin, Choline, is just as important. Without it, the fats in your body collect in unattractive and dangerously large lumps - in your liver, under your skin (hips, thighs and under your eyes) and most dangerously in your blood vessels. Stuck in limbo, these potentially useful fats start to rot chemically (not smelling too nice in the process - much to the profits of perfume and deodorant sellers) and produce overwhelming amounts of free radical toxins trying to impregnate and destroy every cell of your body with the cancer command. Ultimately, cellular antioxidant defenses are overrun in at least one of your 100 trillion cells, and just one weak cell giving-in is all it takes, and cancer is off and running.
Choline is the reinforcing component of every cell wall. Without enough of it a cell will become highly promiscuous and welcome every stray toxin and virus. Once past the gatekeepers, the virus demons freely take over the inside of the cell. Your genetic plan is unplugged and the viral programming hijacks the operation of that cell. It becomes possessed by the virus and is then used against the rest of your body - used to breed a vast army of viral invaders. Choline is the closest thing you will find to a guarantee that your cells will remain YOUR cells.
Perhaps the most instantly perceivable benefit of Choline is its tremendous contribution to your thought processes. It literally is the raw material your body uses to make the chemical stuff (acetylcholine) from which thought is created.
Every thought you think uses-up Choline. A thought impulse travels electrically from one far end of a brain cell or nerve cell to the other. At that point the signal stops and has to jump aboard a disposable chemical ferry to be carried across the synapse gap to the connecting cell on the other side. There it resumes its electrical form, and so on and so on, like a complex relay race.
Your electrical impulses will only get across the gap when there is a chemical ferry there to take them. It is sort of like the telegraph lines don’t cross the harbor. They have to be hand carried on these molecular boats. So if there is no boat available, the signal fades. By the time the next boat arrives, the idea has literally evaporated like light from a light bulb shut off - it doesn’t hang around the room very long.
Having an abundance of Choline in your brain feels a little like having caffeine, except you get even faster and more sustained keenness with far better concentration and without the jitters. The potential I.Q. yield from Choline/Lecithin has been measured at around two letter grades, and 10 full I.Q. points - the difference between someone who is merely bright and someone who is a sheer genius - or between someone who is seen as becoming a little bit senile and someone who is regarded as being remarkably as keen-minded as they were 20 years before!
Caffeine (just like cocaine) is a non-nutritional drug that contributes no natural-landscape raw materials. They both work by slave-whipping limited supplies of Choline (being held in safety-priority-reserve) into a frenzy, to be forcefully converted to acetylcholine so more thought can be carried more quickly. Eventually, you must consume more and more of the drug just to feel and function normally. By the end of the day you feel wrung out and abused. Even the quality of such thinking (though granted there is usually a lot of it) could be called into question - unless of course you are willing to take the position that thoughts generated by addictive drugs are capable of evaluating their own value. They may be fast and abundant, but may not reflect a genuine depth of wisdom.
Choline approaches the holy grail of enhanced memory, perception and intelligence from a different method. Instead of beating an exhausted horse, Choline floods the brain cells with ready resources for making a superabundance of natural little acetylcholine shuttles busy ferrying thoughts all over the place. Old memories sharpen. Dreams upgrade from black and white to color. Daytime senses develop a richer depth - particularly during sex. Anxiety is converted to strategy, and insomnia into restful sleep and a broader working vocabulary.
No drug will ever replace nor surpass the potential of Choline, because Choline is at the structural core of thought itself. And by far the best way to potentiate Choline is to make sure you have plenty of it instead of going on little Viking raids to steal it from other brain uses like membrane structure. No matter how much caffeine you take, ultimately you are limited by your brain’s own available supply of Choline.
Remember, the brain cells you have now are the exact same ones you were born with. They are all you will have to carry your mind - and are the sole vehicle through which to manifest your spirit until your last moment. Is it really worth abusing them for a quick dash of thought from a coffee pot - especially when even more of an advantage is yours for the taking - safely - and nutritionally?
Your body has a tremendously varied list of uses for Choline. As a component of Lecithin it forms a large percentage of semen bulk. It also is used-up in the elimination of lactic acid (muscle soreness) generated during physical activity. Your various uses compete for limited supplies.
Summary
At the Lecithin card table you have 8 major players. The nerd, the bald guy, a guy clutching his chest, the beauty queen, the jock, the playboy and the kid with a runny nose.
The nerd wants to think fast and make his next Internet million, so he is grabbing all the cards he can get with million-dollar-desperation.
The bald guy wants hair ever so badly, but can’t grow it because his flowerpots are clogging with cholesterol-testosterone concrete that only Lecithin will dissolve from the inside out. So he is winking at the beauty queen and grabbing all the cards he can.
The guy clutching his chest is all clogged-up with cholesterol that only Lecithin can scrub outta there. So he too is grabbing all the cards he can with his one good arm.
The beauty queen saw herself in the mirror this morning without her makeup or support hose. She has fat where she doesn’t want it and cellulite she doesn’t want anywhere. She alone saw what her skin really looks like underneath the makeup - her glow of youth fading fast. And then her hair, all brittle and lifeless - well we just won’t go there, but between you and me, it has her the most upset of anybody, and with those nails of hers flying, you had better let her take all the Lecithin cards she wants.
The jock lives to play ball. He runs, lifts weights, and works out constantly. This big guy just helps himself to all the cards he wants. He knows he can’t play without them so he elbows his way in and makes a real pig of himself. He especially likes to pick on the nerd and the playboy.
The playboy - well, it is kind of sad actually, he is just acting the part. In reality, he is just a typical married Joe who dreams of having good romance like he and his wife had when they were first married. So he grabs all the cards he can and then takes some home for her.
Then, there is the poor little kid with allergies and colds. She is hiding under the table, wiping her nose on her sleeve, and sneaking a hand up to snitch a few cards now and then from the other players. Right now, she is grabbing all she can grab, because a few days ago she got lazy. A nasty flu took hold so she is after all the cards. Just as one of the other players gets a pretty good hand, she snatches it, and then all their plans fall apart while they have to sleep off the flu.
Last but not least, the main player at the table is you - the dealer. You can go to the cabinet and get a full deck for each player, or you can watch them scrap over a sad few cards. You can even get your favorite players a couple of decks, but only after everyone else has at least one. You see, balance is required to keep everyone happy.
A daily supply of Iridesca provides 1,234mg of Choline, tripling the amount of Choline you would get from your typical diet alone. That is like going from one deck on the table to three. Every three spoonfuls of Xtrapure Lecithin you add is like adding another couple of decks.
How much is too much? Glad you asked. Lecithin/Choline/ Inositol is uniquely self-regulating. When you accumulate all that your body needs, it stops you automatically at around 6 added spoonfuls of Xtrapure a day - probably dropping down even more day by day as your reserves get replenished.
Meanwhile, back to the concept of balance; How can you have balance while leaving out Choline and Inositol? You can’t. But you can pretend - and you can experience pretend results - partial benefits, incomplete benefits, premature aging and sub optimal performance.
Choline and Inositol are only two of a thousand different nutrients and synergies we have carefully balanced in Iridesca.
Nothing else even comes close. Well I guess you could take a colloidal trace supplement, a handful of rancid lecithin capsules, a bioflavonoid tablet, a superfood blend, a sip of noni, a cup of live culture yogurt, a basket of herbal capsules, a multivitamin and mineral tablet and a glass of elderberry and beet juice... etc.... etc.... Naaaah!
