Hormonal Problems
December 17, 2012Estrogen dominance refers to excessive blood levels of this predominately female hormone. This condition affects both females and males in these times.
-
DHEA: Health and Youth Hormone
December 24, 2012DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone, is the most prevalent and one of the most essential hormones in human health. Of considerable interest is the fact that most other animals do not have significant levels of DHEA. Thus when we see the striking number of illnesses in which there are low levels of both DHEA and magnesium, a possible connection between these essential chemicals begins to appear. Even a 10 percent increase in DHEA levels is associated with a 48% decrease in mortality from all causes. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans lose 80 to 90% of their optimal levels of DHEA between ages thirty and eighty.
-
Estrogen: How Is It Bad For You?
December 15, 2012Estrogen is good for 6 things: starting your period, starting Labor, making you fat (ostly from the waist down while decreasing lean muscle mass), creating depression and PMS style mood swings all the time, causing sexual dysfunction, causing fibrosis and cancer of the breast, cervix and uterus.
-
Progesterone: Hormone of Happiness
October 24, 2012Progesterone elevates mood and a sense of well being, increases bone density, stops estrogens' tendency to increase fat stores in the waist, hips and thighs, improves the bust line, increases libido, fights miscarriage, fights all of estrogens negative tendencies from creating fibrosis and cancer to prematurely aging the skin.
-
Aging Male Syndrome
November 04, 2012Men go through AMS between the ages of 35 and 65 (normally between 40 and 55) when their hormone levels (especially testosterone) go down. Testosterone is a hormone that helps maintain sex drive, sperm production, pubic and body hair, muscle, and bone. Testosterone levels decrease over time. This decline is normal in healthy males as they age.

Endocrine System, Hormones and Glands
September 19, 2012In our monthly seminars with doctors, we are asked repeatedly - "What can be done for malfunctioning adrenal glands?" A larger and larger number of their patients are suffering from this problem. Because of so many requests for an aid to the adrenals, we formulated a group of herbs consisting of mullein and lobelia, Siberian Ginseng, Gotu Kola, Hawthorn berries, cayenne and ginger.
-
Pregnenolone Basics
January 01, 2013Soon after cortisone and cortisol came into use, the synthetic steroid hormones dexamethasone, and later prednisone, were introduced. Remember that these steroids are hundreds of times more powerful than pregnenolone (or DHEA for that matter). Because they could be patented, it was more politically and economically advantageous for pharmaceutical companies to promote these drugs rather than pregnenolone.
-
Oxytocin: Trust Hormone
September 27, 2012The chemical, oxytocin, is a natural brain hormone thought to be linked to bonding, social attachment and, some scientists believe, love. It is also the key ingredient in a "trust potion" that researchers developed recently: when people sniffed it, they temporarily became more trusting.
-
Hormones In Industrial Use
September 24, 2012Hormones are used to accelerate the growth rate of animals so that they can reach market earlier and can cause health concerns such as early puberty, cessation of puberty, breast development and ovarian cysts in young girls.
-
Testosterone
January 16, 2013Testosterone: rebuilding strength, mental Drive, libido and youth, or building more testosterone and keeping it testosterone.
-
Hypothalamus
September 07, 2012The hypothalamus consists of a tiny cluster of nerve cells located at the center of the base of the brain. This organ serves as a link between the autonomic nervous system and the endocrine system.
-
Ovaries
June 20, 2012The female ovaries are two almond-shaped bodies about 1 1/8 inches (3.5 centimeters) long which lie on either side of the pelvis.
-
Pituitary
September 03, 2012The pituitary (or hypophysis) is a small gland, no larger than a pea, located at the base of the brain in the small depression of the sphenoid bone called the sella turcica. It is controlled by the hypothalamus to which it is attached and is sometimes referred to as the master gland because its function is to coordinate the nervous system and the endocrine system.
-
Testes
June 20, 2012The testes are suspended in a sac called the scrotum outside the body to maintain the lower temperature necessary for efficient sperm production.
-
Thymus
June 20, 2012Overlying the heart, the thymus is a twin lobed organ consisting largely of developing lymphocytes. Lymph carries white blood cells to this organ, where they multiply and change into special infection-fighting cells. Although the function of the thymus is not fully understood, it is known that it is an important part in developing immunities against various diseases.
