Balanced Base Powder
Administration of Balanced Base Powder to Maintain Acid
Base Balance
by Dennis Myers
Balanced Base Powder or some equivalent should be used by almost everyone
as the first step of any type of medical treatment.
One takes 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Balanced Base Powder in water or juice
between meals and before bed, i.e. three times a day.
The important thing is to take it on an empty stomach, between meals,
so it can suck out the excess "deposit acid" from the acid producing
cells lining the stomach (thereby generating more bicarbonate which goes
into the blood stream). One needs acid in the stomach to digest food obviously
so the Base Powder should not be taken around meal times.
If you eat breakfast at 8:00 A.M. and lunch at noon then you would take
the first dose of Base Powder at 10:00 A.M., the same between lunch and
dinner. It is best to sip it even, so it can suck out acid from the stomach
over a longer time, not all at once as with one big gulp. If there isn't
time to sip it, just gulp it anyway. Small amounts of Base Powder, done
consistently like this, over time, is what makes the difference.
It is best not to eat before you retire at night. If you don't eat
before bed time then you can take 1/2 to 1 tsp. of Base Powder before
bed also. If you do eat before bed then you would not take the Base Powder
that night.
To determine the amount of Base Powder you should take, skip
taking any for a day so it is all out of your system. Then, check your
urine pH the next day at the same times as you would take the Base Powder,
i.e. between meals, say at 10:00 A.M. or 2:00 P.M. The urine should be
kept at a pH of 7.0 to 8.0 at all times. If it is below this number, i.e.
if it still acid then you need more Base Powder. If the pH stays between
7.0 and 8.0 then you can try to decrease the amount of powder.
Remember the urine is most alkaline around 2:00 P.M., the Base floods
is a good time to check your urine as it should always be alkaline around
this time, even without Base Powder.
It is not necessary to check these pHs often. Checking the pH of the
urine at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M., once every week, month, is sufficient.
It took a long time for us to become acid, for the connective tissues
and cells of the body to become saturated with the stored acids. For the
same reasons, it will take some time to de-acidify the body, to neutralize
and excrete all the stored acids. This process can take one to two years
depending on how ill and/or old the patient is. This is not a quick fix
as described above, but it will at least prevent the problems that come
from being too acid, namely the problems of pleomorphism and its changes
which are chronic, degenerative disease.
BALANCED BASE POWDER
To de-acidify the body makes whatever else you do work better. Whatever
type of medicine is used, whether pharmaceutical medicine, homeopathic,
herbal or any other type of medical treatment -- deacidification makes
them all work better because it helps the body work better. Pleomorphism
and the changes that implies work with us, not against us.
Over-acidification of the body is the basic, 'first cause' of
all disease, so no disease in fact can be truly healed without coming
to terms with these facts and dealing with them, one way or the other.
To do so covers a lot of ground, as this topic effects all body processes.
Our bodies are alkaline organisms living in an acid environment. The
acidity of the blood has to stay exactly the same, at the pH of 7.4, always
-- very slightly alkaline. If our bodies become acid they are ill or soon
will be, if our blood becomes acid we are almost dead.
You have to understand that when I say this concept contains the basic
cause for all chronic degenerative diseases, that I'm not talking
about specific treatments but about GENERIC TREATMENTS, that is, treatments
that help with all diseases. If accumulation of toxic acids in the system
is the beginning of all these degenerative processes then eliminating
these acids from the body will help whatever is wrong with you, no matter
what. Pleomorphism is kept in check, the forms living within us remain
friendly, symbiotic.
In fact, every disease begins, at a cellular level, with those particular
cells becoming acid, oxidized, toxic, polluted. This happens if the cells
become infected, irritated or stressed in any way. If they are mechanically
injured, burned, poisoned whatever, they become acid first, then they
begin to oxidize, creating free radicals, then they swell (to dilute the
accumulated acids) and leak, and then they die and or turn cancerous as
the last resort at eliminating the toxins from the organism.
The main reasons are bodies become acid are stress, too much protein
and not enough fruits and vegetables, the intake of synthetic chemicals
(drugs) and basically not being happy.
Stress makes us acid by forcing our bodies to break down too fast which
overburdens the excretory systems with the excess acid waste products.
These acids come from inside the body. Protein and things we put in our
mouth, fast foods, synthetic pharmaceutical drugs, milk... make us acid
because, when broken down by the body, the wastes they leave behind are
as strong as the battery acid in your car.
As the blood acidity can't change at all, the blood simply transports
these excess acids to the ligaments and connective tissues where they
are stored. This makes us hurt and generally, "not feel good".
Then, during a good night's sleep, the blood takes these stored
acids to the liver where they are processed and then to the kidneys where
they are eliminated. The urine, which again reflects the condition of
the fluid that surrounds each and every cell, should be acid first thing
in the morning but the rest of the day it should be alkaline.
If the treatment you are using is working, your urine
acidity values will return to normal and/or if you help the urine acidity
values return to normal, what is wrong with you will improve, the chicken
or the egg first kind of scenario. This is the re-mineralization process.
The minerals are the bases in our bodies and include sodium, potassium,
magnesium, calcium and so on and the 90 some trace minerals. These are
organic minerals, the type found in plants, not inorganic like those found
in table salt. Plants can digest minerals, we can't. All our minerals
must eventually come from plants.
Balance Base Powder doesn't replace the lost minerals, it simply
flushes out the old acids that have accumulated, year after year, in the
aching ligaments and connective tissues of our poor, tired bodies.
If the acids leach or take out more of the minerals from your body than
you put back in, by consuming enough fruits and vegetables, you will become
acid, that is all there is to it. If all the excess acids you consumed
from the day before are not eliminated by the next morning they have to
begin to accumulate, day after day after day...This is not the cause of
chronic degenerative disease, it is chronic, degenerative disease. The
pleomorphism of Enderlein, the changes the protit undergoes are signs
of this progress.
THE CHEMISTRY OF BALANCED BASE POWDER
Balanced Base Powder is a balanced preparation containing baking soda
and sources of potassium; potassium bicarbonate, potassium citrate and
a small amount of potassium chloride. Also, there is no calcium or magnesium
carbonate in this powder as in some others. This lack of calcium
and magnesium increases the acid consuming powers of this base powder
substantially, as will be described below.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO3. This combines
almost immediately with the hydrochloric acid of the stomach and forms
carbonic acid. This carbonic acid then breaks down into carbon dioxide
and water -- the water is eliminated from the body by the kidneys and
the carbon dioxide eliminated by a belch or through the lungs (NaHCO3
+ HCl = NaCl + H2CO3 = H2O + CO2).
The acid hydrogen ion (H+) from the hydrochloric acid is thereby
eliminated from the body as water.
The chloride ion (Cl-) left over from that recombines with
sodium from the baking soda and forms sodium chloride (NaCl) to be reused
for the synthesis of more hydrochloric acid when needed. (NaCl + H2CO3
= HCl + NaHCO3), i.e. salt plus carbonic acid make hydrochloric
acid plus baking soda. The potassium chloride in the powder also helps
in this function of providing CL ions.
As stated before, it is that as the cover cells of the stomach (the
cells that make the hydrochloric acid) make acid, they also produce the
sodium bicarbonate, baking soda indicated above, which goes in the other
direction into the blood stream.
This 'natural' baking soda from the cover cells of the stomach,
first neutralizes the excess acids stored in the connective tissues, Pishinger's
space and then goes to the alkaline glands of the body to recharge them,
the pancreas, the gall bladder system, the salivary glands and the alkaline
glands in the duodenum. This is how acid base balance is achieved.
The baking soda you drink isn't what goes into the blood stream
and Pishinger's Space to neutralize the acids stored in the collagen
fibers there:
- it is the baking soda produced by the cover cells of the stomach,
- in response to the baking soda you drank,
- that goes into the blood.
The sodium and potassium from the bicarbonates are absorbed very quickly
by the body. As the bicarbonate combines with the hydrogen of the hydrochloric
acid in the stomach, it fizzes, you burp and the acid is gone. Pour some
vinegar over baking soda and it fizzes immediately as the carbon dioxide
is released. These quick bases from the bicarbonates sodium and potassium,
are absorbed very quickly, 90% of it within 30 minutes.
Tartaric acid is mixed with these powders to cause effervescence, bubbling,
but also the tartaric acid combines with and ties up some of the potassium
and sodium by forming potassium and sodium tartrates. Putting the powder
in fruit juice does the same thing as the citric acid in the juices ties
up some sodium and potassium in the form of potassium and sodium citrate.
The potassium and the sodium from tartrates and citrates, enter the
body slowly, as potassium chloride. Because the tartrates and citrates
take a while to be metabolized and broken down, thereby releasing their
KCl, they free their potassium and sodium over a longer time. Some of
the tartrate and or citrate is also metabolized, burned and excreted as
a bicarbonate in the urine, thereby helping to make the urine alkaline,
which is why one takes the Balance Base Powder in the first place.
Most of the potassium in the body is intracellular, contained inside
the cells. As a result the level of potassium in the blood is quite low,
relative to sodium which is mostly extra cellular, outside the cells,
in the blood serum. Because there is so little potassium in the blood
serum to begin with that a small increase makes a big difference.
When taken by mouth large fluctuations in the serum potassium level
do not take place as the body cells themselves take in and store the potassium
until it is needed by the blood, to be delivered elsewhere. The kidneys
make the final adjustment. None the less the tartrates and citrates spread
out the delivery of the potassium so it can be utilized more gradually.
This is desirable.
Remember that citric and tartaric acid are weak acids and although acid
when eaten become alkaline as they are metabolized. The acid portion (the
H+ ion) of these acids combine with carbonic acid salts in
the blood, forming carbonic acid which then dissociates into water and
carbon dioxide and is gone, blown out through the lungs.
The alkaline parts of these acids, the citrate and tartrate, go through
a rather complicated biochemical transformation but eventually most of
these basic parts are burned and converted to bicarbonate, which of course
is alkaline. Although such weak acids are acidic when eaten, after the
H+ ion is breathed out the basic portion is left behind. As
this basic portion is excreted with the urine, the urine of course becomes
alkaline. Citric acid by itself will make the urine alkaline.
In short, with the Balanced Base Powder, the sodium goes directly to
its carrier, the blood serum and the potassium is released later, in its
proper sequence to enter the red blood cells. The combination of these
two bases compose the main alkali-reserve of the blood.
This powder is a modified form of the "Genuine Brause Powder"
which was well digested and tolerated without resistance." Over the
years similar preparations have been made with names such as the Bullrich-salt,
Raw Salt and Kaiser-sodium.
Also, with this combination of powders as compared to others, as the
hydrochloric acid of the stomach liberates the sodium and potassium from
their salts, the hydrogen ion (H+) from the tartaric and citric
acids helps maintain the acid environment in the stomach, which keeps
the pH of the stomach from going too alkaline too fast. More acid can
be drawn from the stomach if it is done slowly.
Also, just taking a big dose of baking soda for example, all at once,
can cause too fast a release of the carbon dioxide gas, causing uncomfortable
pressure that is relieved by belching. Even if this does happen it is
just a sign that the baking soda 'is working', drawing acids out
of the system and is not a reason to stop using it. Instead the powder
can be sipped in small gulps with a short pause between swallows. Luke
warm water can help as can taking some lemon juice after each gulp.
This whole process, recharges the stomach acid system really, like a
battery. When the stomach cells make acid, they split the resulting NaCl
or salt into separate sodium and chloride ions and this takes a tremendous
amount of energy. When the stomach makes too little acid, as is frequently
the case (anacidity or hypoacidity), the whole process of using up the
hydrochloric acid in the stomach with the Base Powder does, recharge the
system, make it work harder and in time, better. In time digestion improves
that's all their is to it.
Calcium chloride given intravenously stimulates stomach acid production.
Potassium chloride is used here as the source of chloride ions along with
a small amount of Celtic sea salt (NaCl) to provide the chloride ion from
sodium chloride. These aid in the production of hydrochloric acid.
Again, the above as described is true for low acid in the stomach but
it is also true for too much acid and peptic ulcers. The treatment for
both conditions is the same as one is just an extension of the other,
the hyperacid condition leading to the condition where little or no hydrochloric
acid is produced by the cover cells of the stomach.
In the over acid condition the Base Powder sucks the excess acid out
of the system. In the under acid condition the baking soda stimulates
the production of more hydrochloric acid, which, in time, takes care of
this problem too. Baking soda IVs speed both these process up considerably.
You take excess acid from the stomach (with baking soda), which takes
it from the base deficient body. So, the stomach only makes more acid
to get rid of more of the excess acid from the base deficient "organism"
(isn't that a funny word) - until, all the excess acid of the organism,
is gone, until the urine is no longer acid. Then -- you don't have
to do it any more, if you continue to eat right etc.. Your urine just
gets alkaline, an hour or two after you eat, all by itself, the "base
tide", the bicarbonate from the cover cells of the stomach from the
meal before, finally being of sufficient amount to make it out the urine,
to not be all used up on the way out.
