Considered to be superfoods for longevity.

Dozens of Antioxidant Enzymes, Cleansing Enzymes, Repairing, Rebuilding & Healing Enzymes. Carotene & Chlorophyll, Vitamins, Potassium and other minerals.

Green juice of Alfalfa (leaves)

Remote Southwest USA (Leguminosae, Medicago Sativa)

A favorite of ancient Chinese physicians, Ayurvedic physicians, the Arabs, the Spanish, American pioneers and health enthusiasts and athletes. The roots of alfalfa run as deep as 30 feet - deep enough to get at minerals other plants can't reach. A general tonic especially useful to the cardiovascular system and to reduce cholesterol. Recent studies focus on alfalfas ability to bind carcinogens and speed their elimination. Used to reduce bad breath and body odors.

Barley Grass

Barley grass is one of the green grasses - the only vegetation on the earth that can supply sole nutritional support from birth to old age. The true beauty of barley is found in the leaves; the young green shoots of power that form before the grain. The young leaves have a tremendous ability to absorb nutrients from the soil. When barley leaves are 12-14 inches high, they contain all the vitamins, minerals, and proteins necessary for the human diet, plus chlorophyll. These necessities are easily assimilated throughout the digestive tract, giving our bodies instant access to vital nutrients.

Amino Acids and Proteins

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins; 20 of them are present in the body proteins in significant quality. Proteins are the major constituent of every cell and body fluid (except urine and bile) and are necessary for the continual cell building, regeneration, and energy production that we need for life. The green barley leaf proteins are polypeptides; smaller proteins that can be directly absorbed by the blood, where they promote cell metabolism and neutralize toxins. Eighteen amino acids, including the eight essential, are found in barley grass.

Enzymes, Vitamins, and Minerals

Green barley leaves contain a multitude of enzymes that facilitate the essential chemical reactions of life that help you move, digest, or breathe.

Astounding amounts of vitamins and minerals are found in green barley leaves. These include potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, beta carotene, B1, B2, B6, C, folic acid, and pantothenic acid. Indeed, green barley juice contains 11 times the calcium found in cows' milk, nearly 5 times the iron in spinach, 7 times the vitamin C in oranges, and 80 mg of vitamin B12 per hundred grams. Green barley leaves also contain significant amounts of chlorophyll.

Alkalinity

Green barley leaves are extremely alkalizing, digesting them helps you keep your body's acid-alkaline balance.

Recently research has unveiled a wealth of other possible benefits of green barley leaves. Some studies have shown that when green barley juice is added to injured cells, the cells' DNA repairs itself rapidly. This may contribute to preventing the changes that often lead to cancer, rapid aging, and cell death.

Enzymes

In drying of the barley leaf juice we are using a very advanced drying process, guaranteeing that all active nutrients remain active.

Green Grass Powders

Comparing Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, and Other Cereal Grasses

For centuries, civilizations have understood the value of the cereal grasses, including wheat, barley, and alfalfa. Now, twenty years after we introduced superfoods to the world, scientists are discovering the benefits of these green superfoods.

You probably are interested in improving your health in the most effective way. Some of this information will likely surprise you.

All cereal grasses are nutritionally similar.

In his book Cereal Grass, What's In It For You, Ronald L. Seibold makes the statement that the nutritional value of cereal grasses is determined more by where it is grown and its stage of growth than whether it is wheat, barley, or any other species. While the taste of young cereal plants varies, the nutritional content does not. This statement is based on thousands of analyses run on all the cereal grasses. Wheat grass and barley grass grown in the same field and harvested at the same growth stage are more similar nutritionally than two barley crops grown in different fields.

Grasses grown in a field are not the equivalent of indoor tray-grown plants.

It is currently very popular to purchase trays and sprout cereal grasses from home. This grass is normally grown in the dark with just water, and is ready to be cut and juiced within 5-7 days. This plant is a good source of chlorophyll, and is a good detoxifying agent. However, these plants should not be confused with more mature plants that have been planted in rich soil. Such plants develop good root systems, and are much more nutritionally potent.

Dehydrated cereal grasses are convenient, nutritious, and safe.

People that choose not to grow their own cereal grasses can purchase dehydrated products that are nutritional powerhouses. Studies show that dehydrated cereal grasses contain more nutritional value than almost any green vegetable. In fact, the only one that comes close is spinach!

Cereal grasses can easily be grown organically. When we choose a source of dehydrated cereal grass, we take great care to ensure that the grass was grown organically without pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.

Processing is the most important factor to consider.

The nutritional content of all cereal grasses is dependent on the soil in which they were grown roughly the same. The main difference between these grasses will be their taste. We take great care to mix and blend them to create a pleasantly tasting product, while selecting sources grown in widely varied soils to give you a broad mineral spectrum.

When you are considering which product to purchase, make sure you consider the process of the creation of the product. We consider the growing location, use only plants grown organically, that are harvested at their peak, and that are processed into the powder while preserving most of the enzymatic activity inherent to the plants.

Wheat is a popular cereal grass largely because it is the most abundant. More acreage of wheat is planted than any other crop. Its nutritional content will vary greatly based on where it is grown. The same is true for barley or any other grass. Premium cereal grass producers pay special attention to the soil conditions, and use organic farming methods.

The actual processing of the grass into the final product also varies widely. Some of the less expensive and inferior products cut the grass, let it dry, and then chop it up into a fine powder. A better and more expensive process is to actually juice the grass, and then dry it into powder. This is important, because juicing removes the fiber, leaving just a potent nutritional substance.

This processing should preserve the nutritional content of the grass. To do this, the grass should not be heated, and the drying process should capture the live enzymes. This is easier said than done, but well designed processing can preserve almost all of the nutrition that originally existed in the grass itself.

Summary

We use only grasses grown in nutritionally rich soil. Our green foods sources are selected with special attention to every step of their manufacturing process. We provide maximum nutritional benefit you can get.
