I notoriously suffer from "gifter's block". Either I think of an item too personal and difficult to get exactly right (color, size and shape) or something so trivial or practical that the recipient could, and probably has, bought it at a local grocery or department store.

I seem to be lacking the sensitive-intuitive gene that would allow me to discern my loved one's every need, wish or desire.
