Dear LEC Reader,

What do you consider the most important appliance in your kitchen?

I wonder what you answered?

What does it tell you about your focus? Is it health, or expediency?

At the top of my list, right after the refrigerator (what a marvelous invention!), and a water filter, my favorite kitchen appliance is: [drum roll, please]

My high-power blender.

Mine is a Vita-Mix 5000 Super with a Volixer upgrade. It has become indispensable. It is fast, and keeps me well nourished. I use it every day to make a smoothie, a breakfast of champions. Let me tell you about that a bit later ...

Just thinking about it my mouth is watering about the possibilities. How about a green drink, a liquid salad, with a shot of superfood?

I love the "never boiled" vegetable soup, and in the summer I make delicious icy sherbet deserts... and as a treat, one of my favorites, almond milk.

Now... I promised you my Breakfast of Champions recipe:

  • I like fruit for breakfast: one whole (cut up) apple, half a cup of frozen blueberries, some raspberries or peaches, and sometimes a piece of banana for extra carbs. I've had pears, plums, apricots, grapes, too.
  • A tablespoon of hemp oil, some salba oil, and always some coconut oil.
  • A teaspoon of Himalayan Crystal salt brine.
  • Exsula SuperSeed blend, a tablespoon or so. I add salba and flax seeds.
  • Exsula ZoeTein mix, a tablespoon or more, sometimes with extra hemp nuts.
  • Adya Minerals, about 10 drops.
  • Ultimate Chlorella, at least a teaspoon, sometimes with AFA and maca.
  • I use Prills and Pearls in my water, so it is energized to start with. I usually top my jar to 32 oz, and drink the whole thing one glass at a time.

Water and Performance 

I keep writing about basics, the important issues we tend to take for granted. They usually are not the most urgent item on the list, but if they are neglected, they come to haunt us in dramatic ways. I don't think it is possible to achieve long term success in any area without looking after the basics.

One of those basic things, perhaps even the most important, when it comes to your body's performance, is water. It better be clean, parasite and bacteria-free. Water's energetic properties that make it absorbable at the cellular level are almost completely ignored by the mainstream "science".

Batmanghelidj: Many Cries for Water 

In a famous book by Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water” published in 1992, Dr. Batman, as he became to be known, wrote that a dry mouth is not a reliable indicator of dehydration. The body signals its water shortage by producing pain. Dehydration actually produces pain and many degenerative diseases, including asthma, arthritis, hypertension, angina, adult-onset diabetes, lupus and multiple sclerosis. Dr. B’s message to the world is, “You are not sick, you are thirsty. Don’t treat thirst with medication.”

Let me quote a few more statements made by Dr. Batmanghelidj. I want you to know that you probably need fewer medications, perhaps just more water.

Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a major thirst signal of the human body. The use of antacids or tablet medications in the treatment of this pain does not correct dehydration, and the body continues to suffer as a result of its water shortage.

Not recognizing heartburn as a sign of dehydration and treating it with antacids and pill medications will, in time, produce inflammation of the stomach and duodenum, hiatal hernia, ulceration, and eventually cancers in the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver and pancreas.

Rheumatoid joint pain - arthritis - is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint. It can affect the young as well as the old. The use of pain-killers does not cure the problem, but exposes the person to further damage from pain medications. Intake of water and small amounts of salt will cure this problem.

Low back pain and ankylosing arthritis of the spine are signs of water shortage in the spinal column and discs - the water cushions that support the weight of the body. These conditions should be treated with increased water intake - not a commercial treatment, but a very effective one.

Not recognizing arthritis and low back pain as signs of dehydration in the joint cavities and treating them with pain-killers, manipulation, acupuncture, and eventually surgery will, in time, produce osteoarthritis when the cartilage cells in the joints have eventually all died. It will produce deformity of the spine. It will produce crippling deformities of the limbs. Pain medications have their own life-threatening complications.

Migraine headache is a sign of water need by the brain and the eyes. It will totally clear up if dehydration is prevented from establishing in the body. The type of dehydration that causes migraine might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and possibly loss of eye sight.

Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought, when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels that diffuse water into vital cells. As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from the blood serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the "injection process." Just as we inject I.V. "water" in hospitals, so the body injects water into tens of trillions of cells all at the same time. Water and some salt intake will bring blood pressure back to normal!

Not recognizing hypertension as one of the major indicators of dehydration in the human body, and treating it with diuretics that further dehydrate the body will, in time, cause blockage by cholesterol of the heart arteries and the arteries that go to the brain. It will cause heart attacks and small or massive strokes that paralyze. It will eventually cause kidney disease. It will cause brain damage and neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease.

Monitor your urine to make sure you are not dehydrated:

* A hydrated body produces clear, colorless urine.
* A somewhat dehydrated body produces yellow urine.
* A severely dehydrated body produces orange or dark-colored urine.
