Metabolic PathwaysMetabolic Pathways

Biochemistry and nutrition are commonly taught as if the basic metabolic pathways for energy production are used in the same way by all people, except perhaps for some uncommon hormone and enzyme deficiencies. This, however, is an oversimplification that leaves the health practitioner as well as the patient without clear guidance as to how to use nutrition to overcome disease and maintain health.

A more relevant study of our energy metabolism – the way in which our cells produce energy from food – provides some fascinating insights into the reasons why certain diets and nutrients are beneficial or harmful for various diseases and for different metabolic types. While part of this study may look rather technical and difficult to understand, it is well worth making the effort because here we have the basis of all the disease-producing and healing effects of nutrition. However, if this part is too difficult, then simply skip it, or come back to it later when you want to understand a specific nutritional problem.

GLYCOLYSIS AND CITRIC ACID CYCLE

The main energy-generating mechanism in our cells is the Krebs cycle or citric acid cycle. This is a series of enzymatic steps through which a two-carbon molecule (acetyl or acetate) is oxidized to carbon dioxide and water. All three main food components – glucose, amino acids and fatty acids – can be utilized in this way.

Glucose is normally the most important fuel molecule. Through several reactions along the glycolytic pathway it is split in half to form pyruvic acid. Niacinamide and vitamin B1, as coenzymes, are the necessary vitamins at this stage; magnesium is required in addition. Glycolysis proceeds anaerobically, that is without the need for oxygen.

Energetic Water-Energetic Life|Podcast#90

energized Water

Energized water has had its molecules returned to their original life-giving, super moisturizing state. This allows maximum moisture absorption into the cells of your body, pets and plants; a major key to healing, and the maintenance of health and vitality.

Pure, natural, unpolluted spring water is naturally structured water. Since most of us have the mediocre water quality from commercial water producers or municipal services, we need to return tap water to its original, hydrating, life-giving state. Pure, energized, (living, restructured or cluster size reduced) water allows maximum moisture absorption into the cells of our bodies, pets and plants.

Raspberries|Podcast#88

raspberry

Your body has the ability to dissolve cancerous and pre-cancerous cells within a few days, and to replace them with young and healthy cells. However, you must feed & activate the responsible cellular mechanism, with the exact nutrient, in the potency it requires. This can be done naturally.

With the exact nutrients and potencies in Exsula EllagiPlex, you can feed and activate your natural mechanisms to kill pre-cancerous and cancerous cells. It contains an extra fine (micronized) grind of raspberry seeds to promote assimilation. They are blended with synergists to enable efficient conversion of ellagitannins to ellagic acid in your body.

Raspberries contain one of the most powerful antioxidants known; a series of ellagatannins which are converted into ellagic acid in your body. Many fruits contain ellagatannins, but your body cannot convert all sources into useable, beneficial levels of ellagic acid.

Ellagic Acid has the ability to inhibit mutations within a cell’s DNA, causing apoptosis (normal death) in cancer cells. In addition, research has found that it has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

Raspberries are one of the few sources of ellagatannins that your body can transform into useful levels of ellagic acid. The very best way to get the ellagic acid is with extra fine ground raspberry seeds, combined with synergists.

Stop Rusting!|Podcast#85

There are five places on Earth where the people routinely live to over 120 years of age in good health with virtually no cancer or dental caries (decay of a bone or tooth), where they remain robust and strong and are also able to bear children even in old age, and the most famous of these, Hunza in the Himalayas, has people who live to 120-140 years old. There are also villages in France where the people are extremely healthy and other villages where the people are run-down. Much research has proven conclusively that the major common denominator of the healthy long-living people is their local water.

Dr. Henri Coanda, the Romanian father of fluid dynamics and a Nobel Prize winner at 78 yrs old, spent six decades studying the Hunza water trying to determine what it was in this water that caused such beneficial effects for the body. He discovered that there were indeed anomalous properties to the Hunza water. It had a different freezing and boiling point than ordinary water, a different viscosity and a different surface tension. When he became too old to continue his research he entrusted it to the then young Dr. Patrick Flanagan.

Dr. Flanagan worked for a further 30 years on the Hunza water sample trying to isolate and synthesize its properties. The reason that he had to work on the original 40 year old Hunza sample was that Hunza is no longer the pristine wilderness that it used to be, as now there are highways going there and man has brought in insecticides and other killers and the local water is not as pure as it was. Dr. Flanagan was eventually able to create the same anomalies in water but it wasn’t stable. As soon as the water was shaken or stirred, it lost the properties – unlike the original Hunza water sample which still retained its qualities even when shaken.

Have you ever noticed taking vitamins or other supplements and not really getting much effect? This is a sign that those supplements are not getting fully absorbed by the body. As an example, when you take 1,000 mg of Vitamin C, the body usually only gets about 300 mg and eliminates 700 mg through the intestines.

Patrick Flanagan took his process further and was able to dry the nano-colloids into a powder (called Ultimate Mega H-) that could be combined with other supplements and when this is done, their absorbability increases by about 300%. In the example above, the body gets the full use of all 1,000 mg of Vitamin C.

Join Martin and Scott in their teleclass: What Metabolic Type are You?

Our metabolism is the total of all the millions of biochemic enzyme reactions that take place in our body at any given time. Some reactions use energy to build more complex structures from assimilated nutrients (anabolism), while others release energy bybreaking down more complex molecules (catabolism).

While there are additional factors and overlapping influences, we may say quite generally that our basic metabolic pathways are most strongly influenced by our nutrition, the glandular system is mainly affected by our emotions and the nervous system responds primarily to brain and mental activity. All three factors – nutrition, glandular system and nervous system – combine to regulate our metabolism.

Inherited or acquired variations of these regulating factors produce a unique blend for each individual and call for different specific requirements for optimal health. However, there are also some common key factors and we can distinguish several groups with similar characteristics; each group represents a metabolic type.

We encourage you to listen to the podcast or read more about metabolic types on our website.

Hormonal Havok: Podcast #46

Martin Pytela and his long-time co-host Scott Paton once again have delivered an engaging, educational and electrifying podcast episode. The topic? “Hormonal Havok”, the kind that leaves you in a daze one minute and zipping with energy the next with absolutely no explanation.

Throughout the animated discussion, Martin and Scott touch on two important methods you can use to balance hormones and restore proper cellular health. Cellular health is so important because each cell contains its own life force which combines with others to produce a full-fledged life form. If the cells aren’t communicating properly with each other, or if they are not performing their respective function, it’s no wonder the life form (you) doesn’t feel too hot!

One of the best ways to reassert proper cellular health is through magnesium. Known to soothe the nervous system, it provides deep rest and produces amino acids which are a very important part of the chemical processes which are going on at all times throughout your body.

The next solution is no secret to those who live near the ocean. Kelp, rich in iodine, has been prized by coastal peoples for millennia. Natives were known to trade with inland tribes and in return for their kelp they would the most prized possessions of the inlanders. It should come at no surprise then that kelp and seaweed have tremendous healing powers. Modern scientific analysis is showing us that edible seaweed leads to longer lasting life and less mineral depletion throughout the bloodstream.

Alterantive Health: Detox Podcast #45

Martin Pytela, founder of the Life Enthusiast Co-op, was not always involved in alternative health. He started up the his company after a horrific incident involving mercury fillings which put him a state of less than ideal health, to say the least. This episode finds him once again chatting with his co-host Scott Paton about various alternative health strategies.

Martin and Scott discuss the effects the extremely toxic mercury had on his body, and reinforce the importance of keeping the body clear of any sort of toxin. This is possible only through continual detoxification, which is best facilitated by Platinum Plus, a fantastic detoxifying agent that eliminates poisonous metals such as mercury, aluminum, lead, cadmium and arsenic from the body for good.

This detoxifying process will astound you in its ability to remove illness and discomforts previously thought to inevitable. These things do not need to simply be “lived” with as is often thought! The amino acids acting in the LEC’s Platinum Plus formula are really worth your time. Give it a shot today.

Proper Eating: Podcast #205

Martin Pytela, founder of the Life Enthusiast Co-op, and his co-host Scott Paton take on the topic of proper eating and metabolism this week on their alternative health podcast. We all have trouble finding the perfect diet for ourselves. Improper diet results in inflammation, leading to the production of insulin, which is then stores energy as fat where it doesn’t get used properly.

Cholesterol is another result of improper diet. It leads to cases of high blood pressure, heart attacks and arterial plaque. The body produces both “good” and “bad” cholesterol and the two must be kept in balance for your maximum health to be achieved. Managing blood cholesterol levels can be very difficult and eating the right foods with exercise is only the beginning.

The Life Enthusiast Co-op offers a fantastic cholesterol solvent called Lecithin. It is a potent ally for your immune system, and a moisturizer and lubricant. The product itself is designed to enable efficient fat metabolism. This leads to remarkable weight loss.

Lecithin is also what your brain uses to create the chemical stuff thought is made of. The more of it you have, the sharper your mind becomes.

Martin Pytela and his co-host Scott Paton have been getting together every week to discuss alternative health topics for sometime now (they have nearly 200 podcasts out there!). Amazingly, they never seem to repeat themselves and the show has continued to stay engaging and even get more interesting as time goes on!

The topic of this episode deals with the relationship between the prostate and iodine levels in the body. Iodine is a unique substance in the body as there is no organ designated to produce it. The iodine that the body does store must be done in a single organ: the thyroid. This means that it is something not really discussed that often yet as you will find it has a huge impact on our health.

Traditionally, we get most of our iodine through the soil used to grow the foods we eat. However, in mountain states the iodine levels in soil are low to begin with. On top of that, industrialized farming has continued to deplete our soil of iodine and other essential nutrients over decades. The result is less than spectacular. Iodine deficiency runs rampant in the United States.

Iodine’s main function is balancing the endocrine system, including the thyroid gland. Without supplementing iodine, emotional states can vary very quickly without regulation. This can manifest itself more prominently in women because of the nature of their hormonal dynamics. Iodine also regulate our reproductive organs, and iodine deficiency can cause a great deal of problems with the prostate and overall sex drive of men.
