Metabolic Typing: Journey to Wellness

Health is not a privilege, health is a right.

Health is a natural state of being. Health should be free and available to everyone. Unfortunately, we are paying for products and food that is taking our health away from us, and then we pay more for a treatment that should fix it, which is rarely the case and often comes with side effects. Health somehow became a commodity, something you can buy, something that can be sold to you by people who have no education in it. Politicians give us recommendations on how our diets should look, they tell us what is healthy and what isn’t, and they make us believe that everyone should follow the same diet advice, which should result in looking like Barbie and Ken. But it doesn’t work. To be able to escape this maze and find the right path to our individual well being, we need to shatter these lies and start questioning.

First of all, everyone is different. There is no universal diet, unless we are all genetic clones of a single person. Carbohydrates are not enemies for everyone. Not all of us should be eating small portions five times a day, and not everyone is okay with fasting. Breakfast is not the most important meal of the day for everyone, and its not true that you should only eat carbs with dinner. Also, you don’t need a protein shake, granola bar, or a fat burning pill to be fit and healthy. You don’t need to pay thousands of dollars on weight loss programs, diet pills, and fitness gadgets. You cant exercise enough to make up for poor diet, so its not really true that running two miles every day will burn away the chocolate cake you had earlier. And you don’t even need to fit into a size 0 to be healthy!

Understanding our own bio-individuality is the key to success on the journey to health. Different foods will have different effects on different people. It sounds pretty complicated, but there actually is a way to determine where you fit on the spectrum, and which foods are right for your body type and metabolic make up. Nobody knows your body better than you do. Are you a Vegan, but not feeling your best? Then it probably isn’t the right approach for you, even though your sister swears by it. Listen to your body’s signals, or better off, learn how to determine your type your metabolic type is like the center puzzle piece for your individual health picture to build around.
