The Truth about High Cholesterol and Statin Drugs

Dear Reader,

Dr and PatientOur aging population spends more and more time in a medical doctor’s office, with elevated cholesterol.

Mainstream medicine’s answer to that is pharmaceutical, prescription drugs – Statins – to reduce cholesterol, that they believe lead to blood clots, strokes and heart attacks.

Statins to lower your cholesterol are sold under a variety of names including Lipitor (atorvastatin), Zocor (simvastatin), Mevacor (lovastatin) and Pravachol (pravastatin).

What YOU NEED to KNOW about High Cholesterol

Hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) is actually an invented disease of the 21st century, emerging when doctors learned how to measure blood cholesterol levels. Oddly enough, high cholesterol does NOT have any outward signs or symptoms, unlike other blood conditions (diabetes, anemia). Many people feel perfectly healthy – and ARE perfectly healthy – with high cholesterol.

With the full backing of the US government, media and medical establishment, doctors routinely convince patients that they need to take toxic drugs for the rest of their lives, and have regular checkups and blood tests, because (they say, without scientific evidence) high cholesterol is the forerunner of blood clots, strokes and heart attacks – and possibly other diseases as well.

After you read The Dangers of Statin Drugs below, please keep reading for a natural, healthy solution, in the form of Systemic Enzymes. We have what you need to prevent blood clots, strokes and heart attacks, with NO harmful side-effects.

The Dangers of Statin Drugs

Nasty side-effects you may not know about…

Woman Down~ Neuropathy, Muscle Pain and Weakness

Weakness, tingling and pain in hands and feet may cause difficulty walking and puts seniors at high risk of falling, and breaking bones (or worse).

~ Dizziness

Common with statin use, possibly from blood pressure-lowering effects. The elderly are particularly sensitive to this, and they need stability most of all, to reduce risk of falling.

~ Heart Failure

Virtually everyone with heart failure is prescribed statin drugs – even if their cholesterol is already low!

Statins were first given pre-market approval in 1987. Since then – from 1989 to 1997 – heart failure deaths have more than doubled! The likely explanation is that statins interfere with production of Co-Q10, and the heart muscle cannot work right when deprived of Co-Q10. As the pharmaceutical industry encourages doctors to lower their patients’ cholesterol levels even further, depletion of Co-Q10 becomes problematic, weakening heart muscles and contributing to the current US epidemic of congestive heart failure. [Langsjoen PH. The clinical use of HMG Co-A reductase inhibitors (statins) and the associated depletion of the essential co-factor coenzyme Q10: a review of pertinent human and animal data.]

A recent study shows that patients with chronic heart failure actually BENEFIT from high cholesterol, rather than low (Clark AL and others. J Am Coll Cardiol 2003;42:1933-1943). In this study, researchers followed 114 heart failure patients for at least 12 months and found:

  • Survival was 78% at 12 months and 56% at 36 months
  • For every point of decrease in cholesterol, there was a 36% increase in the risk of death within three years.

Now THAT’s convincing!

Brain Erase~ Cognitive Impairment

The November 2003 issue of Smart Money describes a case of Lipitor turning a young businessman into an old one, when he was in the prime of life. Statin use caused his speech and memory to fade, forcing him to close his business and go on Social Security. Things improved when he discontinued Lipitor, but he still cannot sustain a conversation.

The December 2003 issue of Pharmacotherapy reported cases of cognitive impairment associated with Lipitor and Zocor. Patients suffered progressive cognitive decline that reversed completely within a month after discontinuing statins (fortunately!).

A study at the University of Pittsburgh tested patients on statins and placebos, in solving complex mazes, psychomotor skills and memory tests. Statin patients compared poorly with patients on a placebo.

Take a look at the book “Lipitor: Thief of Memory” by former astronaut Duane Graveline. He discuses Global Transient Amnesia which is complete memory loss for a brief or lengthy period. Sufferers report baffling incidents of forgetting where they are, and why. The episodes occur and disappear suddenly, but what if your airplane pilot develops statin-induced amnesia?

~ Liver damage

Statin use can cause liver inflammation. Although rare, contact your doctor immediately if you have unusual fatigue or weakness, loss of appetite, pain in your upper abdomen, dark-colored urine, or yellowing of your skin or eyes.

~ Type 2 Diabetes or Increased Blood Sugar

This risk is so high that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning on statin labels regarding blood glucose levels and diabetes. Yikes!

HeartNatural and Side-Effect-FREE Options…

We have what you need to avoid blood clots, strokes and heart attacks, with NO harmful side-effects like statin drugs offer. What you really need is to prevent clots from forming – quite readily done with Systemic Enzymes.

Systemic Enzymes Work

To Prevent Blood Clots, Strokes and Heart Attacks

The Dangers of Excess Fibrin…

Clogged Artery/VeinFibrin is a protein that forms in your blood after trauma or injury, and is essential to stop excess blood loss. Bacteria, viruses, fungi and toxins in your blood trigger inflammation and more excess fibrin.

Excess fibrin circulates in your blood and sticks to the walls of blood vessels, contributing to the formation of blood clots, that can block blood flow and oxygen to your brain and/or heart, causing heart attacks, stroke or senility.

Excess fibrin also slows blood flow and increases blood viscosity (thickness) that elevates your blood pressure.

Thrombolytic Enzymes Will “Eat” Your Excess Fibrin

Clogged Vein SectionThrombolytic enzymes (enzymes that break down blood clots) such as Nattokinase, are naturally generated in the endothelial cells of your blood vessels. With age, your enzyme production declines, making your blood more prone to coagulation, potentially leading to blood clots, strokes and/or heart attacks, as well as other conditions.

In Japan, they estimate that blood clots have caused dementia in 60% of the senile patients.

Diabetes is also caused by blood vessels with lowered flexibility from excess fibrin.

Nattokinase is a Thrombolytic Enzyme (thrombus = clot)

Nattokinase breaks down fibrin to prevent clots, reduces blood stickiness, and improves your cardiovascular health. Excellent for people concerned about blocked arteries or blood clotting, or those needing to stop taking statin drugs.

Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi, M.D. (they call him Dr. Natto) is a researcher of the Japan Ministry of Education, majoring in the physiological chemistry at the blood laboratory of the University of Chicago, researching thrombolytic enzymes.

He was searching for a natural agent that could successfully dissolve blood clots associated with heart attacks and stroke. One day in 1980 Dr. Sumi took the natto that he was eating for lunch (natural sources of natto are (azuki beans, Korean ginseng, Japanese water dropwort) and dropped a small portion onto a plate of artificial fibrin. The natto dissolved the thrombus and had completely resolved it in 18 hours! Dr. Sumi named the corresponding fibrinolytic enzyme “nattokinase” – it has a potency matched by no other enzyme.

Two Systemic Enzyme Formulas
To Regain and Maintain Your Cardiovascular Health

These breakthrough formulas redefine the battle against fibrin and circulatory health protocols.

The new standard for blood clot prevention.

Reduce Risk of Blood Clots
Promote Healthy Heart, Circulation and Blood Pressure
Help Eliminate Fibrin

When your circulatory system functions properly, cholesterol and blood pressure are reduced, and your blood flows free of life-threatening clots.

Naticor contains only the high potency protein-digesting enzymes. All of the ingredients are powerful when used individually, and when combined, they work synergistically to combat the formation of fibrin throughout your body.

Nattokinase, Serrapeptase, Lipoic acid, Rutoside (Sophora japonica), Protease, Calcium (as calcium citrate), Magnesium (as magnesium citrate) and Zinc (as zinc methionate). This gives you a unique mineral matrix, providing a product that you can truly count on.

And, this systemic enzyme formulation has been dramatically advanced through the process of bio-energy infusion.

Natto LP

Reduce Blood Clots, Clumping and Sticking
Promotes Cardiovascular Health

Attacks the underlying functions instead of the symptoms.

Natto-LP contains the most potent form of nattokinase on the market, Nattokinase NSK-SD.

Nattokinase is very effective in breaking down fibrin, and dissolving existing blood clots (thrombus) by dissolving the fibrin that binds platelets and red blood cells together.

Natto-LP contains 6 enzymes other than Nattokinase to help cleanse your body of undigested particles. The most important of these other 6 enzymes is protease, lipase, and peptidase.

The Importance of Protease and Lipase

Enzymes are the metabolic driving force throughout the entire body. Proteolytic and Lipolytic enzymes are able to break down proteins, fats, toxins, and cellular waste in the blood stream and throughout the body. A healthy blood stream maximizes nattokinase enzymes to function at full potential.

Proteolytic enzymes break down protein, and are often referred to as proteases. These enzymes help your body’s immune system break down toxins, foreign proteins, pathogens, and dead cells. This helps reduce stress off of other body systems. They also help balance your body’s pH level.

Lipolytic enzymes break down fat. Poor fat and lipid metabolism can lead to cardiovascular imbalances because fats are a major source of fuel for the heart and brain. A healthy person’s body is between 20-24% fat cells. Yet some fats and lipids such as triglycerides can harm our cardiovascular system. Lipase can help control triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels.
