Podcast 181: Relief for Inflammation and Pain – Part 1

Martin has returned from the Czech Republic where he was eating less healthy and he’s feeling his years.  He was visiting and spreading the word about Exsula Superfoods.

As Martin and Scott were walking together, Martin noticed that since his trip, his joints are not feeling and functioning as they were before. It’s inflammation – a very common problem for many people of all ages, shapes and sizes.

Sooner or later you can be quite certain to experience inflammation in some form or another. When you go to see a doctor about this type of problem you can also be sure the doctor will diagnose something with an “itis” at the end. There are four main signs of inflammation. The Roman medical writer Aulus Cornelius Celsus wrote about them all nearly 2000 years ago. They are:

  1. Heat
  2. Redness
  3. Swelling
  4. Pain
  5. and most importantly: Loss of Function

The most common forms of inflammation include ear infections, sore throat and aches and pains in the form of arthritis or myositis (muscle aches). Neuritis (brain inflammation, Alzheimer’s) and carditis (heart disease) are manifestations of the same problem much later in life.

Metabolic Typing answers the question what should I eat to stay well and why.

Typical encounters with inflammation will include otitis, or ear infection, pharyngitis, or sore throat, and common aches and pains of latter years such as arthritis and myositis (muscle aches), and finally in old age we deal with neuritis (brain inflammation or Alzheimer’s) or carditis (heart disease).
