Podcast 185: Cancer and Iodine Deficiency

An old friend of Martin’s called to say that he has prostate cancer, asking for help. This word “cancer” scares everyone.  Seems to be a foregone conclusion that we’ll die of it, we just don’t know how quick.

Martin told his friend not to panic – this is a slow burner – he’d probably die of heart disease first. All the same, it should be looked after. Many years ago, this man ignored a warning sign (lower sexual interest and ability) and Martin did not want to interfere. Now that he’s asking for help, Martin has lots to say.

Cancer happens (among several things) in the absence of Iodine. The RDA (recommended daily allowance) for Iodine is set so low that the only thing it will prevent is goiter. Iodine plays an extremely important function in the body. It balances the endocrine system and thyroid gland, allowing emotional states to be properly managed. It also regulates the prostrate in men and the ovaries and breasts in women.

Unfortunately, much of our population suffers from iodine deficiency. Read about iodine. You may be surprised.
