Podcast 269: The Day Called 4-20

Today, Martin and Scott record on April 20th, otherwise known as 4-20.

Wikipedia says this about 420…
“is a code-term used primarily in North America that refers to the consumption of cannabis and by extension, as a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture or simply cannabis itself. Observances based on the number 420 include smoking cannabis around the time 4:20 pm (with some sources also indicating 4:20 am) on any given day, as well as smoking and celebrating cannabis on the date April 20”.

Martin talks about how the public seems to believe that marijuana is becoming more and more acceptable. We have prohibition, and what that creates is black markets and gangsters. This creates a major segment of the economy operating illegally – off the books. Martin thinks that the gangsters are paying off the politicians.

Scott lives in a port city and almost every day, the headlines talk about someone being shot – people of interest to the police (criminals), in the early hours of the day.

The conversation flows onto legal and illegal drugs, and their impact on the health of people.

Take a look at this article “Coke addiction allegedly kills a New Zealand woman” about a 30 year old woman who died from drinking massive amounts of Coca-Cola.

Martin talks about metabolic typing and how that can help with addictions.

For regulatory compliance reasons we have to sell hemp products at a separate website called Remarkable Recovery.
