Restore Natural Chemical Balance of Your Brain with these herbal tinctures!

Podcast 371 about Mood-Ease, Neural-Ease, and ALZ-Ease with Elijah Free

Martin: Hello, everybody! This is Martin Pytela for Life Enthusiast radio and internet network, coming to you on a sunny spring day with Elijah Free, the master herbalist at Earth Friend Herb. Elijah, welcome!

Elijah: Hi, Martin! Great to be back here again! Thank you! And hi to all of you out there listening, learning about our products, and all of you who have used our products for decades!

Martin: Wonderful! Hey, Elijah, we are grouping products together to make sense of it. Today, we want to talk about the products that deal with neurological issues. So what we have here today are products called: Mood-Ease, Neural-Ease, and ALZ-Ease.

Elijah: I’d like to talk about the Mood-Ease first. There is a really great story about how I came up with this formula. A really good pseudonym or an alias for Mood-Ease would be organic “Prozac”. It helps to solve the problem of ineffective serotonin uptake which underlies many different types of depression. Medications such as Prozac work in a similar way. However, Mood-Ease, surprisingly enough, actually has no side effects!

So I want to tell you how we came up with this one. I actually made this for my wife. I’ve been with her for almost twenty years. My wife, Maggie, unfortunately always had a problem with low grade depression. And in the winter it gets really bad, you know, with Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly called SAD.  I have to say that even after so many years, it became kind of difficult to live with. And one time I was thinking: “I don’t think I could live through another winter with this.” (laughter) But obviously I’m not going to say: “Gee, honey, either perk up or go.” What I did instead was I went to the lab, and I created Mood-Ease.

What Mood-Ease does, is it provides materials, raw materials that actually help to create proper serotonin, and support serotonin uptake in the system. One of the beautiful things about this product, unlike most other products including some medications, is that it actually solves the serotonin uptake problem, so you can’t get too much. Because you can actually get too much serotonin, and end up on the other end of the problem. This, however balances serotonin levels very nicely. So Maggie took it, and actually she felt better from her first dose. That’s how fast it works. It’s very fast, like the Cortisol formula. This formula works with chemical signals in the body, and chemical signals really change that fast. Our tinctures absorb very quickly, so you get the effect very fast. So a number of years down the line, Maggie went through her mom’s death, which took a very long time for her to deal with, she was in a lot of very dark places, but let me tell you, our relationship is better than ever, and Maggie’s mood is wonderful since she started taking Mood-Ease. This formula really made my marriage so much lovelier – I get to enjoy this beautiful person without all of this unfortunate depression. This is a product you can take for a very long time. Once it works therapeutically and you get to that balance, it becomes a maintenance formula, the same way you would probably take Prozac. Our usual dosage is half a dropper three times a day, and it works great.

Martin: So if somebody goes travelling for example, and forgets to take the bottle with them, do they experience withdrawals?

Elijah:  There are no withdrawals, it is just that it won’t be active in the system, so it’s not a withdrawal, it will just cease to have the effect. When the active ingredient is in the system, it works, when it is no longer in the system, there isn’t anything to make it work. The same way a pill would wear off.

Martin: The reason I asked is because, of course, people who are messing around with their Prozac and Xanax, they end up with horrendous swings with suicidal intentions and who knows what else, when they go off of it.

Elijah: Yes, I get your point. One thing I want to say about this, my wife was not on any medication, but we do see people on medication using Mood-Ease though. I want to say this very, very, very clearly and profoundly: if you wish to change, or lessen, or get off your medications, even if you’re using Mood-Ease and it seems to be helping you, you need to go to your prescribing doctor and work with them. This is really important, folks. You can’t do this on your own, you can think: “I am feeling pretty spiffy today, I’m feeling terrific, I think I’m going to go off of this prescription.” Absolutely not.

Martin: Yes, just remember Columbine.

Elijah: Oh, God, is that what happened?

Martin: Well, the boys that did that, one of them was on Paxil and the other one was on something similar, and they were either discontinuing or messing with their dosing or something like that.

Elijah: With Mood-Ease, if you stop taking it for a while and then go back on, that’s not a problem. There are some of the psychotropic medications for emotional swings and stuff like that that if you stop taking, it will not work again. So you need to always consult with your doctor. You need to be very careful with managing pharmaceutical medications, and how they combine with supplements. Please consult a pharmacist, or trained Functional Medicine practitioner who understands how they work in the body and interact with each other. Mood-Ease is really great, we’ve used it with a lot of patients, and we have sold a fair amount of it.

Martin: Yes, it is very popular with our clients, too. So, let’s talk about the Neural-Ease!

Elijah: Yes, this is an interesting formula. You might notice if you look at our website that there are a lot of neurological formulas. I have a lot of patients with numbers of different types of neurological problems. If you remember our story about Cortisol-Ease, that is helpful for PTSD, and it was very helpful for war veterans. And I decided to create one more formula for the vets, which we originally used extensively with non-vets, and we called it Neural-Ease. It was originally made for traumatic brain injury, also called TBI, and all of our brave guys and ladies over there in Iraq and Afghanistan, they’ve got an awful lot of TBIs, for example from desert storm, or because of concussive nature of the explosive devices that they use in those countries.

Neural-Ease helps to create and build new neural pathways, it helps to heal and work with the neural heads of the nerves, and helps to create a proper synaptic flow. Let me tell you a little quick story. I had a patient recently (in fact, we will segway into the ALZ-Ease formula from here, because we used those two together), he was in his seventies. I was doing body work with him, and he was pretty stricken with Alzheimer’s. And so what happened? We gave him the formula to try, and after about four, five weeks, nothing really happened. So, I thought about it, and I realized I needed something stronger, because he was more advanced  than what the formula is designed for. So I thought: “should I redesign the formula?” and then I went: “Well, actually, no, we have what we need in other formulas,” so we made a combination step.

We took the Alzheimer’s formula, which is the ALZ-Ease we will talk about next, we took the Neural-Ease, then we took the Cell-Ease, to help open the cells up, and we gave it to him. And in the first week, he stopped repeating himself. I believe about seven or eight days in, he stopped repeating. Before that, when he came to me for body work, he had a group of about four stories he would repeat four or five times, as if I’ve never heard them. I have a rug in my office, and he always said: “That rug! My grandmother had a similar one!” and that would happen every time. But when I saw him last week, he didn’t repeat a single thing! He didn’t tell me another story he told before, it was pretty coherent!

So what we found in this gentleman’s case, was that ALZ-Ease wasn’t enough, we need something to really help to build better brain health, something that would initiate new neural pathways. We gave him that with Neural-Ease, and we wanted to make sure that it was going to get into the cells, so we gave him Cell-Ease, and we gave it to him in equal amounts, half a dropper three times a day for each of the three formulas.

Also, there is a big difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia. Notice the formula is an ALZ-Ease, not a DEM-Ease, those are two completely different problems. Assuming a formula that’s named one thing takes care of something else that’s not on the label – it doesn’t. If it did, believe me, I would put it on the label. So please, make sure that you or the loved ones you’re giving it to have been properly diagnosed.

Martin: Is there a quick way of telling one from the other? Alzheimer’s versus dementia?

Elijah: Absolutely not. No, that is very complicated, it’s a lot of intake work, people need to be properly and medically diagnosed by professionals who are trained to do that.

Martin: All right!  So you can tune up your brain, you can tune up your emotions, you can address the winter blues, and you can support your relatives who keep on repeating the same story over and over again.
