Glyconutrients: Proven Powerful Immune Boost
Glyconutrients support strong immunity and repairing tissues damaged by aging or blood clots. They're from the inside of an Aloe Vera plant.
- Glyco = sugar
- Nutrient = useful to your body
MucoPolySaccharides are scientifically validated to contain high concentrations of bioavailable Glyconutrients: Mannose and Galactose, they are the most important components.
Even though Glyconutrients are considered sugar molecules, they're not metabolized for energy like glucose. Glyconutrients do not negatively alter blood sugar levels. They actually balance blood sugar because of their beneficial effect on different blood sugar mechanisms.
MPS Acemannan and Manapol
Here is a brief history of the development of Aloe Vera concentrates or muco-poly-saccharides, and the products that came and went.
Acemannan is a term that defines the molecular weight range of mucopolysaccharides derived from Aloe Vera gel that are over 1,000,000 Daltons. All of the mucopolysaccharides from Aloe Vera gel below this molecular weight are not considered to be Acemannan. Carrington Labs was the single company that had the right to the name Acemannan, with patented extraction processes used to produce Acemannan as well as powdered Aloe Vera gel products that contained mucopolysaccharides that were less than 1,000,000 Daltons. The non-Acemannan mucopolysaccharide extract in a powder form was known as Manapol.
From a more technical point of view, Acemannan can be defined as a D-isomer mucopolysaccharide that is extracted from aloe leaves. Acemannan has been demonstrated to induce macrophages to secrete interferon, tumor necrosis factor-a, and interleukins - which might help in preventing or abrogating viral infection. These three cytokines are known to cause inflammation and interferon is released in response to viral infections. In vitro studies have shown to inhibit HIV replication. Acemannan is currently being used for treatment and clinical management of fibrosarcoma in dogs and cats. Administration of acemannan has been shown to increase tumor necrosis or prolonged survival and the animals have demonstrated lymphoid infiltration and encapsulation.
MPS contains long unbranched polysaccharides consisting of a repeating disaccharide unit. The repeating unit consists of a hexose (six-carbon sugar) or a hexuronic acid, linked to a hexosamine (six-carbon sugar containing nitrogen).
The Aloe Vera extract we use contains 20% Acemannan, with a range in molecular weight from 500,000 Daltons up to 5,000,000 Daltons. Generic Manapol contains less than the complete range of molecular weights of mucopolysaccharides.
Acemannan mucopolysaccharides are the essential glyconutrient sugars required by the cells. We have added other sources of essential glyconutrients mannose and galactose - Arabinogalactan from larch and Fucoidan from kelp, combined with Pectin from apples and Ormus minerals from volcanic sources.
