In the past I had excellent luck with Zymitol in ridding myself of what I assume were fibrous cysts in a breast; the lumps on the mammograms were present for a year before I started Zymitol. After starting Zymitol they were gone in 5 months. The docs thought maybe the images were of tumors. Whatever... they are gone. I am currently taking Zymitol in larger quantities (5 caps 2-4 times daily) in an attempt to shrink a couple of larger uterine fibroids. So far, after 3 months on Zymitol again, the second pelvic ultrasound showed minor shrinkage, but enough that the gynecological oncologist was happy to take the next ultrasound in 6 months. Additionally, let me share that I am gluten intolerant. (I do not have Celiac Sprue.) Accidentally in the process of taking Zymitol, I have discovered that I can get away with eating gluten, even pastries, which have heretofore caused my extremities to swell, my joints get stiff and painful, and especially disconcerting, I get large, long-lasting, acne-like blemishes on my face, neck, and back. While avoiding the normal gluten response with Zymitol is expensive, (and I do not take it as a license to freely eat gluten), it affords me an occasional pastry that would normally induce severe break-outs within 1-3 hours of eating, or afford me to eat when gluten is my only option, such as at a function or as a guest. I take 5-6 caps with the gluten meal or within 60-90 minutes of eating it. Then, depending on the amount of gluten or type of wheat flour, I take another 3-6 caps within a few hours. Same at bedtime, and maybe the same in the morning. It is like I didn't eat gluten. Is this because the Zymitol breaks down the proteins in the wheat, or does it disrupt various inflammatory processes? Does anyone out there have good data on this? I am delighted.
