In This Issue:

Dear LEC Reader,

The issue of prescription mood modifiers and mental illness has been on my mind for a long time. Ever since I found out that the boys who attacked their schoolmates at Columbine in Colorado were on one of the oh-so-popular anti-depressant medications I have been harboring a low simmer of a shame-anger-disgust-desperation about my own (in)ability to do something about the pathetic experiment called psychiatry.

The mainstream media made vicious fun of Tom Cruise after he went public on Oprah's show with his strongly stated position that psychiatry is bogus and should be banned. The merits of his points were never discussed. We instead received glib sound-bites and character assassinations. How about putting the data on the table? Kevin Trudeau comes out against psychiatry very strongly in his book about the Cures 'They' Don't Want You To Know About. His statements are well supported by solid research. You may take issue with his style, but the substance of his message is very sound.

Personally I think it is a racket, a collusion of the drug manufacturers and their co-dependent delivery channel, the drug based psychiatry. How many of you have already had the urge to ask for something because the advertisements on the TV look so tempting? The moment you declare in your doctor's office that you feel uneasy in public they offer you something to take the edge off that. And just because you have not found a clear purpose for your life or feel all bummed out about something, you get a prescription for something so addictive that when you try to get off it, you end up suicidal and unable to let go. You might instead want to try juicing and working out. You might be surprised just how good a person can feel after a decent sweaty workout, or a couple of colonics.

Please understand I am not talking about clinical depression, that is a horse of a different color. Still, even in that situation I would recommend that a person cleanse, detoxify and alkalize first. The number of people who feel re-balanced after a simple magnesium bath is astounding. And start eating better. A bottle of green superfoods can uplift you in ways you will find hard to believe.

Enjoy my disclaimer: I only state opinions. I intend to educate, not diagnose or cure. You are hereby advised that you can't know what is best for you, and are encouraged instead to ask people who have been licensed to know just that.

Anti-depression Medication

A Little Sunshine On A Dark Topic

This morning's Austin American Statesman newspaper, July 10, 2006, reports that the "Maker of a popular antidepressant drug hasn't issued warning about possible risk of homicidal ideas." The article goes on to say that a Houston woman who drowned her five children in 2001 was on that medication.

Unfortunately the drug in question, Effexor, is not the only antidepressant that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identifies as problematical. The article from the Associated Press goes on to report that, "In 2004, the FDA ordered that all antidepressants carry 'black box' warnings saying that the drugs increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in children." The data shows an average of 2 to 3 percent of children who take antidepressants have suicidal thoughts and actions. It is my understanding that long term use of these drugs can increase the risks for children and adults.

I view depression as the absence of something, not a thing in its own right. So, if my child were depressed, I would take a positive approach and do everything I could to raise his level of consciousness. I would look to create more light instead of fighting the darkness. Practically speaking, I would fight depression by giving him a supplement for high self esteem instead of a drug to suppress the symptoms. In fact, my grown son uses The Gift™ of his own accord, (a minor miracle), and says he has experienced a distinct uplift of his spirits at times when he really needed it. I can say the same for myself. I feel much happier when I take it!

That is how I use The Gift™ in my private consultations. Instead of giving energy to the problems, I give my clients The Gift™. It works like a ray of positive energy that lights up the user's system. It has repeatedly proven itself as a powerful means to raise consciousness. The higher the level of consciousness, the more happy the person is. Has depression been cured? I don't know. What depression?

Depression can be a very serious problem. The literature on depression shows that there are many variables that potentially can alter it. Lifestyle factors such as nutritious diet, exercise and sufficient full spectrum light are all known to be of help. Science literature indicates that when depression is considered mild to moderate, good results have been reported with certain herbs. To this list of possible helpers, I invite you to also consider The Gift™. And take depression seriously, please. The person suffering from it can become completely debilitated. Depression can kill. I cannot give medical advice, but if someone I knew were thinking about suicide, I would do everything in my power to get that person medical attention. There are times when anti-depressant medication can save lives.

To your very good health!

Magnesium

Four Minerals that Control Your Autonomic Nervous System

Calcium and Magnesium regulate the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) which controls our “fight or flight” reaction. SNS is stimulated by calcium, and inhibited by magnesium. Imbalance causes SNS dominance, an uptight nervous, jittery person. Magnesium will calm you down and bring back your sunny personality.

Potassium and Sodium regulate the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS), which controls our ”rest & digest” reaction. PSNS is stimulated by potassium, and inhibited by sodium. Imbalance causes PSNS dominance (quite rare) a lethargic, tired, slow moving person. Supplementing potassium will revive you out of the evening fatigue.

The Result of Mineral Imbalance on Your Autonomic Nervous System

Free excess calcium will over-stimulate your SNS when there’s insufficient magnesium to balance it out. Potassium is depleted, so the PSNS cannot be properly stimulated to offset the SNS. If you have an acidic cellular environment and free excess calcium, you’ll have an imbalance between the SNS and the PSNS of your autonomic nervous system. This can cause you to be hyperactive, quick to anger, nervous & jittery, and burnt out (like many people in our fast paced society).

Magnesium to Calcium Ratio

This ratio between calcium and magnesium is very important in dealing with the cause and prevention of a number of disorders, including cardiovascular, heart and blood pressure illnesses. The absorption and metabolism of magnesium depends upon calcium intake, and vice versa. The balance between these two minerals is extremely important. In view of the overwhelming benefits of magnesium, the traditional ratio of approximately 2 parts calcium to 1 part magnesium needs to be revised. The ideal ratio for most people's needs is equal amounts of calcium and magnesium. If calcium consumption is high, then magnesium intake also needs to be high.

Note: The trace mineral boron plays a part in preventing the urinary loss of magnesium and calcium. You will find it in a meaningful amount in our Twilight America magnesium supplements.

Take a serious look at these products. They are unlike anything else on the market. They deliver magnesium through your skin, transdermally, thanks to the charge they received in the Star Chamber Factory.
