In many ways, you’re more microbe than human. There are 10 times more cells from micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses & fungi) than human cells, in and on our bodies. And our genes are outnumbered 100 to 1 by microbial genes. Scientists even have a name for all these microbial genes – the Human MicroBiome…
I just had to share this video that explains the human micro-biome so well – and with clear illustrations. I am so grateful to see NPR putting out such good work, helping us with well-designed and really useful education tools. The “obsession with cleanliness” really rang true for me – I have seen it all too often. We do not need all the bleach and germ-killers that the advertisers are pushing on us.
Here you can learn how the human microbiome is created – soon after birth – and how our current practices weaken it.
If you find yourself suffering from infections, and even chronic diseases, you would be well advised to run a month of microbiome update, in the form of Exsula Superfoods Strata-Flora.
