Causes of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
Many pathogens may be responsible for these painful conditions, yet they go undetected.
Based on some research, even the world famous Mayo Clinic missed the obvious connection between pathogens and related symptoms.
BUG DISCOVERED AS THE SOURCE FOR CROHN'S
The recent discovery (2004) that the MAP bug is present in the vast majority of Crohn's sufferers means it is almost certainly causing the intestinal inflammation. The same will be said about most cases of IBS, or IBD. MS may be a result of chemical imbalances. I can only speculate that many other so called diseases are in fact secondary manifestations of bacterial infections. No doubt some forms of cancer may the result of prolonged inadequate
nutrition, ie abuse of the cells. How do we arrive at that conclusion. From a macroscopic look at the problem. Remember, even on a clear night you cannot locate the moon with a microscope!
RISKS
There are many sources of infection surrounding us, such as food, water, infected animals and infected people. People with a weak immunity system are particularly at risk for getting parasites. The risk of having parasites can be increased by foreign travel, day-care centers, contaminated water, pets, exotic food, undercooked meat and fish, and of improperly washed meat, fruit, vegetables and grain, overuse of antibiotics and immuno-suppressive drugs, non-protected sex, and contact with toxins and chemical pollutants.
GENETICS
The focus on genetics and disease suggests that a genetic flaw for a disease logic and the world of half-truths might suggest that genetics may leave one vulnerable to an attack by a specific bacteria or pathogen; genetics is not the real enemy.
WARNING SIGNS
I am somewhat shocked at how many chronic diseases have underlying symptoms that include intestinal problems, and often they are ignored as a potential indicator of a bacterial infection, and excused as 'stress related'. The real stress may be caused by the bacterial infection.
Some warning signs can be constipation, diarrhea, gas and bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, skin problems, allergies, insomnia, sore joints and muscles, nervousness, granulomas, anemia, teeth grinding, chronic fatigue and immune system problems. The complications are wide ranging. I am certain that many other symptoms, or diseases, labeled diseases, may be the result of chemical imbalances caused by a corrupted digestive system. We must learn that we are what we eat, digest, absorb and process. Depression, Anxiety, Fatigue, Crohn's Disease, I.B.S., Cancer...?
STRESS RELATED...Well that is only part of the story!
Chemical imbalances?
When you are weak, when your digestive system is inadequate, your chemical reservoirs are depleted and you become very sensitive to many things. You may notice some improvements in some of your symptoms if you take some vitamin and mineral supplements, (especially the B complex variety) or increase your diet in certain areas. For example, Liver has a high content
of B vitamins and enzymes.
How often the phrase, "chemical imbalances' is used, without a focus on the primary system of providing those many and most needed chemicals - your digestive system!
You be the judge! There is a logical connection? Bacterial parasites corrupting the intestinal systems ability to digest foods, causing chemical imbalances! The logic is perhaps far too simple for today's complex world, or perhaps researchers are too focused on the individual symptoms.
We have several problems that result from 'parasites', from the theft of resources to that of creating toxins within the intestinal system that creates symptoms that reduce the effectiveness of the absorption system; i.e. diarrhea.
One key problem is that modern day science appears to have overlooked this area of research. It appears that the term "Parasite" is politically incorrect in today's day and age; be it social, behavioral or medical parasites.
Parasites
Parasites are organisms that produce toxic wastes inside our bodies, while competing with our cells for nutrients. The size of parasites may vary from microscopic amoebas to large intestinal worms. Scientists have identified over 100 different types of human parasites and people can be infected by more than one at a time.
- Blastocysitc hominis
- Dientamoeba fragilis
- Giardia
- Cryptosporidium
- Ascaris lumbroides
- Hookworm
- Strongyloides
- Trichinoisis
Symptoms
- Loss of appetite / Gain of appetite
- Fatigue
- Mood changes
- Depression
- Irritability
- Feelings of being out of time with the present
- Constipation
- Depressed Immunity
- Food allergy
- Fever
- Chills
- Heartburn
- Stomach pain
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Lower back pain
- Itchy
- Rash and skin itching
- Hives
- Weight loss
- Arthritis
- Bloody stools
- Colitis
- Crohn's disease
- Flatulence
- Foul smelling stools
- Malabsorption
- Vomiting
Complications or secondary problems associated with the above symptoms can be quite complex. (Prescription for Natural Cures: James F. Balch, MD., Mark Stengler, N.D. )
Treating rather than testing is the better strategy!
Tests? Scopes? Can't find anything, or rather can't find what they are testing for? I suggest treating for parasites rather than testing for them. Why ? Because the testing is so inaccurate, and the probability of parasites is quite high. From contaminated food to water, etc. etc. etc.. Our research indicates that mainstream medicine is regrettably unaware of the importance of the intestinal system and how "bacterial - parasites" can impact negatively on the system. The symptoms suggest an infection of the intestinal system and most people are never treated for this. Why? Why not!
The testing for parasites is not something that is being properly carried out. Treating for this potential problem, rather than testing for this potential problem appears to be the better strategy. Many sources suggest that once a year, people should take some sort of anti parasitic treatment. The probability of being infected is quite high. The logic is quite simple. Microorganisms that render the 'processing' system ineffective create many secondary problems. Even the most simplest of treatments, ie garlic, will show positive results,
if parasites is the real problem in a short period of time.
Complications and symptoms
Diarrhea and abdominal pain are the most common of symptoms, but symptoms may include loss of appetite, large appetite, fatigue, constipation, depressed, depressed immunity, stomach pains, hives, weight loss, bloating, itchiness, bloody stools, mucus, mood changes, irritability, paranoia and vomiting.
The long term effects on the body render it more susceptible to the following:
- Depression
- Fatigue
- Cancer
- Dementia
- Paranoia
- Schizophrenia
Warning Signs of a Possible Parasite Infection
Recent studies show that someone suffering from a chronic conditions possibly has parasites.
The logic is quite simple. A good diet, with poor absorption combined with parasitic toxins will cause chemical imbalances, leading to a variety of symptoms or labeled diseases.
"What affects the stomach affects the mind!"
These were the words spoken by Momma Squitti, and words that I could not at the time truly understand. Recently science has found that the stomach has more neurons than the brain, and my own research into the ability of the intestinal system to absorb key vitamins like the water soluble vitamin B series shows that this is critical to the proper functioning of the brain. Why the medical profession has ignored this basic cause and effect is unknown to me. Many books have been written about the correlation between a lack of vitamin B and many symptoms. The current drive to attack the problem ignores the reality that the solution lies in providing the basic key nutrient. History has shown the same problem in dealing with the disease of osteoporosis, a degenerative bone disease and , treating this with calcium. My greater concern is that this underlying condition may allow other diseases to develop, ie cancer, as the body is unable to attain required nutrients, and or that the body becomes very weak, and sensitive to other factors, drugs, sunlight, etc. etc. etc.
An ineffective digestive system is like a car with poor spark plugs! Parasites as the source of the problem? From Giardia, to hookworm, the world of parasites is seriously under reported.
Intestinal problems and Vitamin B Deficiencies
Right to the point...
- These are hard to detect. Testing is difficult and unreliable.
- Symptoms include intestinal problems that are often equated to emotional disorders. The key is that symptoms that include Irritable Bowl Syndrome, leading to many other symptoms.
- Treatments are simple, many herbal parasitic treatments exist on the market, not to mention common herbs like garlic that can be added to the diet, together with more Fiber into the diet.
Preventative foods
Foods that help prevent and eliminate parasites include garlic, onions, raw pumpkin seeks, raw beets, raw carrots, figs, papaya seeds, pomegranate, and cranberry juice. You be the judge!
Treatments
1. Fiber
More fiber. High Fiber cereal. The addition of FIBER to the the diet is very important.
2 . Parasitic Herbal Remedies that include:
- Green Skins from - Black Walnut Hulls
- Wormwood
- Garlic (fresh cloves are very effective(part of the Mediterranean diet and inexpensive)
- Cloves
- Grapefruit Seed Extract
- Barberry Bark
- Golden Seal Root
- Ginger (Mom always believed in Ginger Ale)
- Aloe
- Quassia
- Oregon Grape Root
- Sage
3. Probitoics
Good Bacteria - ( ie Yogurt )
To help the digestive system (i.e. Pineapple Juice)
A person with Crohn's disease might consume more sugar than the average healthy person
Supplementation for Crohn's disease should focus on reducing inflammation and supporting the healing of the mucous membranes.
