Electrosmog 101

Electrosmog 101

A journey towards health sometimes can feel like a battle. In The Art of War, Sun Tzu says Know Your Enemy. To properly defend yourself, you need to know what you are up against. When you understand what you are dealing with, it’s easier to manage threats. But some enemies are invisible, which can make them hard to handle. Electromagnetic waves from power lines, electric motors, cell phones and wireless networks can affect our bodily systems. Although these electromagnetic frequencies cannot be touched or seen, they can have a real and lasting effect on your body.

This may sound like tin-foil-hat stuff to you, but hear us out! Headaches, tinnitus, poor sleep, depression, brain fog or even muscle cramps can all be or made worse by chronic EMF exposure! If you suffer from these symptoms, consider these invisible culprits before turning to prescription medications which come with a laundry list of health-damaging side effects!

WHAT IS ELECTROSMOG?

Electrosmog or energetic pollution is caused by invisible Electro-Magnetic Frequencies (EMF), (think power lines, inverters, wi-fi, cell phone signals, x-rays, or microwaves). The problem with these artificial EMF or electromagnetic waves is that they can disrupt your body’s electrical field, affect your sleep, and degrade other bodily processes. Your nervous system has an automatic reaction to stressful situations which is often referred to as fight or flight. If the stress is sustained over a long period of time, your body can’t process it, and the stress becomes chronic and eventually can make you sick.

While you may not be able to control all of your EMF exposure, there are ways to avoid at least some of it! We are here to empower you with knowledge and tips[NV4] , so you can easily navigate your way towards greater health! Read on for more!

Electrosmog is created by  computers, wi-fi routers, cell phones, radio and TV waves, power sockets, electronic devices, and microwaves, which are all considered environmental pollution. They emit invisible forces that can impact your cells, drain your energy, and over time have severe consequences on your health.

Because electrosmog is invisible, it is often overlooked as a source of illness. But even in “standby or sleep mode” electronics may potentially disrupt your body’s function because they continue to send out electrical waves. The new electronic power meters are adding a constant load.

THE ENERGY WITHIN YOU

We are not talking spiritual here. Your body is basically a closed electrical circuit that has its own energetic field. Your cells create their own electrical current, certain chemical reactions within your body create electric impulses. This tiny amount of electrical energy controls many biological processes in your body, and electrosmog can interrupt these natural electrical fields. One great example is the electrical pulses emitted by your heart, which can be measured and seen by your doctor as waves on electrocardiograms (EKGs).

When someone’s heart stops, doctors usually try to bring the heartbeat back by using a defibrillator, a device that delivers a pulse of electrical current into the heart and re-establishes the heartbeat. Pacemakers work on the same principle, controlling the normal heart rate by sending rhythmic electric impulses into the cells of the heart. The fact that you can be struck by lightning or receive an electrical shock is because your body is a conductor, electrical energy runs through you. You are an electric being  from the second you are conceived until the last beat of your heart.

HOW ELECTROSMOG AFFECTS YOUR HEALTH

Each one of us is exposed to an intricate web of electrosmog at home, work, and travel. When you are exposed to the artificial EMF waves, your body’s electrical field is disrupted, causing your bodily systems to malfunction.

When your cell’s electrical fields are disrupted by EMF, your cells may not function properly, and they can become “tired” because the energy they need is not available to them. Without the power to do their tasks, your cells can behave as if they are much older, make mistakes, and they can even get damaged when constantly exposed to electrosmog.

Reported symptoms from EMF exposure include:

  • Headaches, anxiety,  depression, tinnitus, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and loss of libido.
  • Loss of deep, restful sleep, so even though you may sleep for eight hours, you might not feel rested.
  • Decreased memory may have occurred because EMF exposure interrupts deep sleep which allows your body the downtime to convert memories from short-term to long-term memories.

BLUE LIGHT – SLEEP NOT SO TIGHT

You probably use one or more devices with a screen, whether it is your laptop, cellphone, TV, or a backlit e-book reader. These devices do not just expose you to electromagnetic waves, they also emit a specific spectrum of light known as blue light.

Your body produces a hormone called melatonin throughout the day. Melatonin levels are lowest in the morning, they slowly increase during the day, reaching the highest point right before bedtime, reminding your body and mind to wind down and prepare for sleep.

Blue light disturbs this natural cycle. Any light with color temperature above 3500K stimulates the brain and inhibits melatonin production, making you alert and unable to fall and stay asleep. This can lead to chronic sleep problems and deprivation.

Sleep is a period of time when your body rests, relaxes, and restores. Both our bodies and our mind need sleep to heal. Our bones, muscles, and other tissues are repaired and regrown as we sleep. It is during sleep that our memories are converted from short term to long term storage. Certain processes in your body only happen during sleep, and if you don’t get enough rest, it can actually affect your mental health and even speed up the aging of your cells!

Some people claim that they are doing okay with just five hours of sleep a night, but this sort of chronic sleep deprivation can have serious health consequences. If you suffer from insomnia or have a problem falling asleep even though you are physically and mentally tired, blue light might be the problem.

But just like every other problem, this one has a solution as well! Make sure to read out tips below to find out how to protect yourself from any pollution caused by electrosmog and blue light!

TIME FOR A CHANGE

We as a society are becoming sicker and sicker with each generation, but it would be a huge mistake to think that we can’t make a positive change. Modern technology with all the inventions certainly makes our lives easier in so many ways, but there is also a price it comes with, and you absolutely can and should learn how to avoid as much damage as possible.

To make a difference in your life, start controlling the EMF environment in your home. If you are wondering how to do this, we are here to help you with ideas and tips for your journey! Take care of your body and set an example for your loved ones and members of your community. You never know who you will inspire.

PERSONAL PROTECTION

You think your body is not doing much when you sleep? Quite the opposite! Head over to Life Enthusiast blog and learn why bedtime is basically the most important time of the day, and why you should keep yourself as protected as possible to get as much deep, restful sleep as possible.

Ideally, you want to keep your bedroom EMF free, but it is not always an option, considering that invisible forces like cell phone signal, wi-fi or radio waves are ever-present. Putting your phone in airplane mode is a must, especially if you have to sleep with your phone next to your bed (for example if you use it as an alarm clock). For more protection, arm yourself with one (or more) of these:

GOOD –  BLUE LIGHT BLOCKERS
Screens of all electronic devices,  lightbulbs, fluorescent light tubes, and even LED diodes emit blue light. Blue light messes up your natural melatonin production, which disrupts your sleep. It also causes damage to your eyes! Don’t overlook this issue (pun intended) and get yourself some blue light blocking app! These apps gradually tint your screen orange during the day, so your eyes are protected at all times.

Most Apple and Android devices already have this feature pre-installed (it is called Night Shift on iPhone, Night Mode on Android), Windows users might want to install a free app called f.lux for their laptops and computers, and there is also a number of options for smartphones, just search for blue light filter in your AppStore to find your favorite. You can also use a physical filter – orange-tinted blue light blocking glasses. These are awesome if you like to read a book in bed with your lights on.

BETTER – EMF PROTECTING JEWELRY AND STICKERS
Certain crystals work as natural EMF protectors. They are able to restore your cellular electrical voltage and protect the natural electromagnetic field of your body. Wearing these around your neck (or in your pocket) will be like wearing your own invisible protective shield!

You can also accessorize your cellphone or laptop! The CellGar Fractal Sticker is infused with beneficial frequencies that help disperse harmful EMFs. If you carry your phone in your pocket all the time, or if you are glued to your iPad or laptop, this is a must.

BEST –  PROTECT YOUR SLEEP
ADR Mats are electric field shields you can simply put under your mattress or inside your duvet cover and create sort of an invisible bubble for yourself (or your loved ones) that does not allow any of the harmful EMFs in, letting your body properly rest on the cellular level, promoting deep relaxation, better mood, more energy and overall health.

Orgone Biomats are the most luxurious (and the most expensive) option, but these are the most effective and will last you a lifetime. You place them on top of your mattress, where they create a protective field for your best sleep ever.

STAYING SAFE AT HOME AND IN THE OFFICE

Your home should be the safest place for you and your family. Modern households usually include many sources of EMFs, so are offices and other workplaces, where many people spend the majority of their day. Unless you want to get rid of your television, microwave, and laptop, you should know there are simple and effective ways to measure and control your EMF exposure. Consider the following options:

GOOD – MEASURING DEVICES
There are many options that are easily accessible that will help you measure the amount of electromagnetic radiation you are exposed to at home. A simple meter like the KKmoon EMF Meter is pretty inexpensive and ideal for at-home use. For more professional use (or if you really want to geek into it) you can use the more sophisticated Lantex EMF Detector that has many advanced features.

BETTER –  PLUG-IN EMF FILTERS
The easiest way of local EMF protection for each room at your house is using a plug-in filter like BluShield Plug-in. Stetzer is another very reliable brand of EMF meters and filtering devices. It is designed to emit a specific range of frequencies that are in tune with the human body, counterbalancing the negative EMFs from your laptops, routers, cellphones, and other devices you use at home. It is especially recommended for bedrooms, where it enables more restful sleep, helping your body to rest and recover.

BEST – EMF FILTERS FOR LARGER SPACES
If you have a big house or want to protect a larger office space, consider investing in a bigger EMF filtering machine. One of the most powerful machines ideal for large spaces, cell towers, office spaces packed with electronic devices is Blushield Large Area device. It provides EMF protection in 360° range, uses very little power and plugs into any AC power socket in your home or workplace. It covers approximately 590′ (180m) in diameter, so instead of using a small plug-in device for every room in your house, this single device will cover all of them!

BONUS TIP – GO OUTSIDE!
Spending time in nature, away from all the artificial sources of EMF is the best anti-EMF therapy. When we are in nature, we are connected to the Earth’s own electromagnetic frequency, which is 7.83 Hertz, the same frequency at which our brain works the best. Another reason for spending more time outdoors is exposure to negative ions (read all about them here).

Go for a walk whenever possible. Take your lunch to the park, hike in nature on weekends, make yourself a little garden in your backyard, and dig in the dirt. Leave your phone at home if possible, close your laptop cover and give your body a deserved break from the constant EMF pressure.
