This isn’t the first time we hear that vitamin C is good for us, but, are all vitamin C’s the same? Certainly not, and definitely not all of them are good for us.
There are many natural sources of vitamin C, practically everything in the produce section contains some of this complex and so important compound. Its name comes from the Latin words “a” — (meaning “no”) and “scorbutus” (meaning “scurvy”), a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency… so the name does come from a natural remedy for a common ailment, but what we know today as ascorbic acid is far distant from natural and beneficial.
